oil in intake.

before all the flamming starts.. i searched and i couldnt find the thread and i know i saw it somewhere a long time ago... anyway i went to check my air filter right now and when i open the box up i noticed that there is oil on the filter. can someone lead me to the thread about this or just tell me if that is normal or not... thanks!! marek.

wow. so if it is caused by the oil level being too high after oil change then mazda is going to get it tomorrow... i went in for oil change friday and i bet the dumb *** tech was too much of in a hurry and over filled. lol

Clean that **** up all the way to the throttle body.
Drain some oil to get the level right.
Tell dealer he's a moron.

^+1 haha i was really pissed and didnt feel like looking so i made the thread and called the dealer and bitched at them so they are taking a look at it tomorrow. haha. thanks for the help guys!! ill keep you updated on the dealer tomorrow haha

Make them give you a new air filter and if you aren't going to clean it, then make them clean it all. Make sure they have a record of your visit for this issue in case problems down the road. Once or twice probably won't hurt anything much, but continued overfill will!

Now, it's possible to get some amount of blow back without having overfilled oil, but I can't begin to tell you how many times we've seen this. The system never drains out completely in this car unless you take some rather drastic measures, so when they look in the book and just put in the amount it says..........hello......overfilled oil!
