Side Air Bags

what's the best way to check whether I need new sensors? I had both curtain and seat bag deploy and need to know whether to change out the sensor before installing the new bags.

It probably would give you an error. Get insurance to cover new ones?

So sensors are set up to be a one shot deal then? Not sure of my terminology here but when the sensors activate, do they reset? I hit a curb so body damage was minimal, but I don;t see any way the the sensor could have been "broken" in the process.

Vash, thanks but I'm covering this one. Cheaper to fix than for insurance to skyrocket this time around.

not only do you have to replace the sensors, but the airbags and the sas box too. Then you have to take it to a dealer and have it all coordinated.
Dont mess with this stuff--they are made to be one shot deals. Libility reasons etc.
replace it all.

Don't forget the seat belt "pre-tensioners". They are in the buckle. There is an explosive device in there that fires split seconds before the air bag goes off that cinches your seat belt tight.
