I need to get new tires for my rx8. They dont need to be just for winter i just need some good over all tires. Does anyone have tires they have been very satisfied with?

Do you want them to go in snow as well? If so, you'll need all-season tires... and many people will grumble at you for not getting summer performance tires.

My normal tires are summer-only (Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3). My winters are Dunlop Winter Sport M3. I'm very pleased with both sets.

what a vague thread. "they don't need to be winter tires, just all around good tires" is so general. why don't you start, um, here?

Continental ContiExtremeContacts worked really well on my RSX Type S while I lived in NJ. Good all-weather tire. Will handle light snow well.

I hear used Firestones off of some older Ford Explorers are very good buys.

Dang you all are harsh.

Look into Kumho tires. They are korean made. They are pretty inexpensive yet are getting better reviews than alot of the more expensive tires.

BridgeStone RE960 A/S Pole Position. Long durablility, Great contact for all season tires. very little road noise. price is a bit steep but its worth it !

DO NOT GET TOYO PROXES 4. Their tires freaking suck. Weak *** sidewall.

The Kumho SPTs are great. Cheap, great reviews, no noise, plenty of grip, especially for the price. They're summer tires though.

I just put Fuzion RZi's on my 8 and love them. They are a Bridgestone tire targeted towards the "tuner" crowd, but who cares, they are cheap ($120/tire) and are super responsive and grippy. I can't tell you how long they will last, but they drive great. They are summer performance tires though, and the first post was ambiguous as to whether you didn't wan't tires that would work in winter at all or didn't want dedicated winter tires but did want an all season.

Another tire to STAY AWAY FROM is BF Goodrich KDW NT. I got these last week and was so disappointed that I called the tire shop up after two days and asked if I could replace them with something else. Thankfully they let me. The BFG's also have a very weak sidewall and a very squishy, squirmy feel when you corner. Very unnerving.

The Fuzion ZRi compares pretty well with other UHP tires over at Tire Rack (13th out of 47). With a UTQG rating of "320 A A" they should last longer than many tires people use here. See Survey

FYI, the UTQG rating is explained Here

Avons A/S - ultra high performance All season tires. They worked well for me in Chicago weather conditions and the price is right. Also moved up to 245/40 when I bought them, looks far more aggressive on the 8.
