Need help!!! Overheat issue?
hey guys and gals, well, my problem is while driving home on pre-deployment leave, i was going about 70-75 and my little light for the radiator comes on, its the one with that looks like a tv right? but anyways, i would let my foot of the gas and slow down, but as soon as i do that, the light goes away. After driving for awhile at a lower speed, i decided to try my luck again, mainly because i was putting in a 21 hour drive home...and it went well for awhile at 70-75 then it happened again, the light came on, and once again i slowed down, and it turned off..
now im like WTF??!!??!! i checked my radiator fluid at the next stop and bought some extra just in case. well, i got home and hoped it was all just a bad dream, but on my way to OK, it happened again, the light came up when i was cruising at 70mph and once again had to slow down for the light to go away. not sure whats going on here...??? hope someone out there knows.....any help is greatly appreciated!!...
I am currently deployed to Iraq right now, but i would like to know if it can be fixed easily or it needs to be taken to a shop. my plan is to have it fixed before i get back so i won't have to worry about it on my 21 hour drive back to base from my house.
thanks. ( sorry its so long, i didnt wanna leave any detail out that might help)

Assuming that your coolant level is fine, it's possible that you could have a defective coolant level sensor inside your overflow bottle. It's been a documented issue that can only be fixed by replacing the whole overflow bottle as the sensor and bottle all come together.
As long as you have a full coolant system there's no danger to the motor. The level sensor is just a warning tool but doesn't effect how the car runs. I'd check into seeing if the dealer can replace the bottle for you if the problem doesn't go away.
