my TOP speed
#26
138, I think I was actually in 6th that time, and it felt like it could easily continue accelerating at the same rate if I had kept my foot on the throttle. The location was, um, stupid. I'll pass it one of these days, but only in the right venue.
Just to reiterate what other said, if you're doing that speed and you screw up and slam into another car who's traveling 70, it's pretty similar to hitting a parked car going 70.
Even if you don't kill yourself or others on the road, if you do get pulled over (they can call ahead to someone who is up to speed or get a chopper), you'll be unhappy when you loose your license for a year, loose your car, get fines and who knows what else, time?

Won't report my top speed as usual due prying eyes.................but "yes, you need to be in fifth".
And for the love of everything, please do this on a closed course with proper equipment.
And now...............I'm IBTL.

E = 1/2mv^2
change in energy (0-70 mph) <<< change in energy (70-138 mph)
so that would make it much much worse traveling at 138
cheers

If you want to go really really fast, buy a motorcycle and go the track. It will completely redefine your sense of what fast is. I know cars can circuit quicker than bikes because they have way more traction in the turns, but the raw power to weight, speed, exposure to the risk elements, and acceleration is something every speed junky needs to experience. And the bonus is plenty of practice days getting up to speed.
