What a loser Mazda is...I have driven RX-7 and RX-8s since 1985 - NEVER again will I own or even look at a Zoom-Zoom POS.

Being that I am a caring individual . . I will take it off you hands for you free of charge. You go ahead and keep commuting on that 2 wheeled sofa you got there.

For future reference . . if you ride a SPORT bike, you probably fit the demographic the RX is after. If you drive a lounge chair balanced on 2 wheels . . get a BUICK!!!!

Say what you want - the car is a POS. Not all RX8s are - never said that - but mine is!!!

And as far as the Goldwing - I also own a 2005 Harley Ultra Classic which has had nmore problems that my Goldwing has ever imagined. The Goldwing has never had one single problem in 40K plus miles - and the frame issue was only on a couple of years worth of production

If you own a Goldwing then you probably are used to driving slowly to the nearest donut shop and posing there with you chrome laden touring bike and then driving slowly home.
Driving an RX8 that way is bad. Sell the '8 to someone who will appreciate it.
I have riden Goldwings all across the US - around 40 states so far on the Wing. how far have you been on a bike. BTW, since I own both, I know for a fact that the Goldwing will outrun the RX8 in a 1/4 mile - but then again so will my wife's Cadillac CTS-V (as well as the CTS 6 cylinder she had before this one) and my Jaguar XJ. love the looks of the car but it's performance and reliability is poor.

I mean come on.....Is it really that hard to follow a simple procedure?

But maybe you guys are right... HE DOESN"T EVEN DESERVE THE 8.
Unlike most of you guys, I don't mind being honest and saying I have a POS. I am a car guy - and have been sicne I was old enough to buy my own cars. I have never had a car with so many problems - not just flooding but it has had the Homelink system replaced, seat warmers replaced, tail lights replaced due to condensation leaking in, remote opener system replaced, etc, etc. I am sure there are some good RX-8s out there- unfortuantely mine is not one of them.

OK, Bob, you have obviously been sold a lemon. Sorry for the offense, but you came off a little angry in our enthusiats forum.

I have 52,000 miles of trouble free service, and I am very happy. Good Luck to you.

Most people do not have these issues with their RX-8's. There are a few issues here and there (as with any car) but there are far more people out there with no issues at all then there are with constantly ongoing issues like this. Sure you'll see warranty work for some people. Sure some people will flood their cars or need the taillights replaced. Most don't. These are the types of problems that all cars have in some form. This begs the question that if most owners don't have problems like this on this large of a scale, is the problem really with the car or with the owner? I think that's a very valid question given the information provided.

Okay, tell you what I will do. Let's meet up at the Tail of the Dragon - 318 curves in 11 miles - or any challenging road like that and I will be on my Wing and you in the RX8, let's see how well you can keep up with me. I already know the answer but it will be fun to see the look on your face as I leave you in the curves. Will be sad when the grandpa bike as you probably think the Wing is leaves the sports car.

I am impressed. First rotory and you just got it. New to the forum. You show great maturity and knowledge. You must have done a ton of homework before you bought your 8.

Good Job.

okay, let's take my wife's family sedan - Cadillac CTS-V and do the same thing - still guarantee you the car will leave the 8 both in straightline performance as well as handling.

Shoot the cat - I don't care - I hate cats anyway

He wasn't quoting you, he was quoting SlipNslide1.3. It's his first rotary.
At least I don't think he was quoting you.

That's what I was thinking. I know someone who bought a salvaged car with flood damage because it was cheap and supposedly "ran great." Everything on it was having problems, especially anything electrical. Sounds like a similar situation.

I read just fine. Obviously you cannot read. That was not directed at you. It was directed to SlipNslide. Read the top of the quote and it said who originaly posted it. Hummmmm, geuss you need to do your homework on reading comprehension.

I was going to be nice to you, but that just wore me a little thin.

I am an avid motorcyclist also. A Goldwing would not leave an 8 with a good driver at Deals Gap. I have been there many times.

I also sell Cadillacs. A CTS-V is a great car. No question there. The ONLY thing it has on the 8 is horse power. It does not handle at the limit as well. Put the same power in an 8 and it would kill a CTS-V. I realy do like the CTS. I wish the V came in an auto because my wife is hounding me to buy her an STS and she hates manuals.

People are trying to flame you becouse you came out attacking our car that we all love. Mine has 43,000 miles, is an 04. The only thing I have had done (other than the recalls) is new taillight due to moisture, broken passenger visor, and they replaced the sunroof motor because I complained it shuddered a bit as it went back.

It is more than ok to rant on here. It is ok to let everyone know about your car. You came across as confrontational so everyone went on the defensive just as you did when they counter attacked.

I'm pretty certain that damn near any motorcycle out there will outrun most cars in a straightline run. I'm also pretty certain that nothing horrible has ever happened to my car. (Knock on wood) My frame has never broken either. :-)
