My baseline dyno run- Chart included

Well, my car got her first dyno run today. It was run on a Dyno Dynamics dyno and by its number it registered 159 at the rear wheels. The dyno also does Dyno Jet calculations and said on a Dyno Jet, id lay down 180.3 at the rear. Apparently, the difference is that Dyno Dynamics takes caculates power made once the drums get rolling. I dont know all the physics end of it. But i guess it dyno'ed on par for all the stock 6speeds.

They also said the computer calculates the conditions of todays run into all future pulls to keep numbers within 1% no matter when i dyno. Is this possible?

as long as you car is warmed up for each run...most of the dyno's have a correction they do for temp and humidity...so i dont' see how it can be wrong..odd how it had such a big difference from it to the dyno jet though.

have you done anything to your car or is it bone stock?

its bone stock. they did mention the car would have to be warm each time because it was warm before they ran it today.
The difference in the numbers were because (as it was explained to me) is that basically, the rollers can generate hp in terms of inertia. Heavy roller at around 1000 rpm creates torque which in turn fools the dyno into thinking thecar is producing more power than it really is. Thats the short version. Ill do some more research and post my findings. Ill also post my dyno sheet as soon as i can find someone to scan it for me

cool can't wait to see it. so basicly it the way the dyno is designed (the physics of it)...i do knwo different sized rollars (for different dynos) are used depending on the type of vehical and the power it puts down.

What flash do you have? And do you have aftermarket rims? If so, what tire size?

Which dyno did you use?

Dynapack? Mustang?

Dynapack is the most accurate, to use the dynapack they remove the rear wheels and hook the machine up..

yea it was dyno dynamics, the tires are 245/40/18 that we filled to 50 psi before running to keep them from expanding as they got to spinning.

heres the link to the chart, its the dyno dynamics #, adjusted for a dyno jet it would be 180.

other than being a little low (effect of the type of dyno used?), that looks pretty normal.

note: this is not my 8. it is marietta8's dyno. and he has some mods on it. regardless, the basic shape of the graph is the same.

the numbers were low because of the type of dyno used.

The only thing that concerns me and seems to be prevelent on most of the dyno sheets id seem, is the two power "dips" in the upper rpm. Does anyone know what causes them? Also, could a properly tuned stand alone smooth that out?

the dips coinside with differnt paths in the intake opening, and i don't think there is any way to "smooth" it out.

Does anyone have this chart for the auto version? Also looking for pics of the manifold and pics of the ports. Lastly anyone know the actual port timing? Rotary engine illustrated doesn't have any Rx8 info.
