my 2jz rx8

I'm getting all parts and help from my friend down in Miami that owns HP Performance and Ricky that builds 7-second cars and finally my other buddy quarter chicken that has been a supra junky for the last 20 years. Yes we do call him quarter chicken and unfortunately he works at a Honda Dealership.

I know that. However it can be a dyno king and I could set it for day to day driving with my standalone computer. Theres people driving 900 HP Supra's all day long on the street.

I've only driven a 700hp car on the street, and that's about nuts. Barely nudge the throttle in 2nd gear and feel wide *** tires instantly slip like they're bald on ice. Can't really imagine 900+
Can't wait to see your results!! I always liked my RX8 as it was almost perfect, but I just couldn't get past the lack of power. Obviously I didn't have the cash to do what you're envisioning. Anyways, tear it up man!

Why not a R26B 4 rotor?
Really tho, something must not have been done right with the last motor you had. I woulda re-built it properly. I'd stick rotary, but any big engine swap is bad ***.
rotary pwns piston engines any day... god i just cringe when i think of valvetrain, piston rods and all the components that'll break.
I just wish more main stream dollars went into rotary R&D. Still so much potential to improve on such a great platform.

Wheels, not rims!!

Well no doubt the 2jz will be easier and more reliable to make big power (over 500hp) compared to a 2 rotor and especially the 13b-msp (is it even possible with what the market has right now? no). The weird thing is how he didn't name any specific parts that will be included for the swap other than "built 2jz".

This right here is why I don't get the whole ricer mod culture. You spend that kind of money, buy something that will be worth something. Because your heavily-spent RX-8 will only be worth **** - the value of a mutilated RX-8, vs. if you spent that money on a proper car, it would be worth what the proper car would be worth.
There's a kid down the block who has put $20,000 into a shitbox $6000 Civic and he's proud of it. I pointed out to him that for that same $26,000 he could be driving a two-year old Mustang SVT Cobra or a 5 year old BMW M3. He about cried. His dad thanked me for talking sense to him.
FYI, I think your idea is stupid city.

i am really looking forward to seeing this swap done, Ive been looking to do one myself since mt renny died. I am rather curious on details such as, how have you managed to clear the steering rack? did you have to build a custom sub frame? and what tranny and drive shaft do you plan on using?
ive been throwing around the idea of a built sr20 being dropped into mine to make some noise. good luck man.

That's real cool. I'm just wondering if it would upset the fine balance of the RX-8 by plopping in a Supra turbo engine in there. However it doesn;t look like you are into handling but more into beating turbo neons.
