That's my point - he didn't have any kind of bad experience, he thinks 1/3 quart of oil is a lot, and a Porker that needs a new engine is better than an '8 that doesn't.

He is a few cards short of a full deck; to quote the great philosopher - "....an idiot."

You flame someone for not liking Mazda (who had a bad experience), and you flame someone trying to make a point. People with dogmatic beliefs annoy me. You like your car, great. If you don't like them, great. I could care less. Many individuals on this forum will tell you the many faults of Mazda and the RX8, they are honest and have experience. Lately it seems like most on this forum are interested in 1/4 mile times and the largest sized wheels they can fit on the car.
There were tons of people who complained about this car. but at least they stated their point correctly, not bashing pointlessly like the OP did.

Wow yes his engine flooded, who flooded the engine? he did.

He has to *push* the car to dealership whatever, Is that even Mazda's fault? He could've just call the 1800 number, or call his insurance or like someone suggested, call his friends or something. Oh yeah, if he has the strength to push it to the dealership, he could've push start it. He didnt. Not our fault, not Mazda's fault.

soon he bitched about how he spent his money, helloooo ~ Dealership ALWAYS charge people more than usual and their labor rate are always outrageous(nothing against tommy's dealership, its just true, I still shop there). Last time my dealership quote me a clutch change of 1300 bux. I almost got a heart attack.

Then he bitched about how Mazda didnt *try* to keep him as a customer. judging from the way he write about this thread, Im sorry, if Im Mazda, I would of just turn around and say good bye. Its great to know that Nissan gave you something for free, and? why didnt u get a Nissan then? instead u turned around to got urself a what, a used Porsche which had a broken engine? wow. Good for you.

My engine never flooded, 42K miles. I did all the maintenance stuff myself: coils/plugs/wires/oils/coolant/engine cleaning. Plus like I said b4, NYC will ALWAYS have colder weather than VA, no flooding. So who is here to blame ?

I now announce that this thread has become the legendary Thread of Rx8club.com !

I find it interesting that a bunch of people frequent this forum for the "lounge" that do not even own RX8's anymore.

Great comments all. I don't see anyone here as needing to defend the RX8 what so ever. If you don't like the car, that's fine. I challange anyone to go onto a mustang site and say the car is trash and so is Ford. Be sure to take a heavy duty flame suit.

the car certainly isn't for everyone. If it doesn't fit you, definately move on. Some have more problems then others. I sold mine for reasons unrelated to problems OR gas mileage. Picked up an 2006 Mazdaspeed6 and couldn't be happier with it for a daily driver.

I agree that Mazdas strong suit has never been customer service...at all. However, going as far as to say you'll NEVER buy another Mazda because of this one specific vehicle? That seems a little forward and somewhat foolish.

wow, many pages... just read ur first post.
but yeah, mazda's are the WORST pieces of ****... that's why i loved it and got another rotary. sad to say, its NOT a car for the inexperienced. (meaning everyone)
hell... i see in ur sig that you had cars that i used to own. so my only point is....why do you bother putting up with the problems of those "other" vehicles, but not this one?
i mean... doctors love to own porsche's. but they complain excessively about their brakes squealing- c'mon, its a sports car with a sports brake pad... possibly semi-metallic. deal with it!

i'd like to be polite to you, as u may just seem to be venting from having bad experience but not knowing what to do.

and again, love a car for its highs and understand its lows. and you maybe won't have a problem at all. that's the moral of my story.... so don't jump the guns and come into a rotary forum just to tell everyone bout your mistake (sucks that you got had by ur local mazda dealership... but it differs, and can happen with any manufacturers, it just depends on the dealership) because most of us or the many have read the owners manual or had the kind help of other members on how to deal with this issue.

as u can see, there are NO perfect car in this world. regardless of what year it is. or we'd all be driving the same car... so i really hope thats not your approach with your future vehicles.

However with my previous RX8 (2004), I had your typical flood. It's 2008, cars shouldn't flood, this is a design flaw. I wrote Mazda NA and requested that they consider investigating my report and I enclosed a receipt. I had to have my vehicle towed literally 500 ft up a hill to the dealer. I spent $870 on parts and labor, the dealer took me for a ride and so did Mazda. Anyways Mazda NA, told me that it was a "driver error" and declined my request. I will never buy a new Mazda vehicle as long as I live.

I had a Nissan a few years ago and the master clutch cylinder went out @ 51K miles. I wrote them and they reimbursed me for the repair. I will heavily consider buying a Nissan as my next daily driver, they wanted to uphold the quality of their company. Mazda basically told me that the RX8 was unique and being unique they don't consider it to be of the same Mazda quality. Whatever, they lost on some opportunity with me. Thought I'd share my story because until now, I liked Mazda.

I don't think Mazdas are trash. I think YOUR Mazda was trash.
Quite frankly, maybe Mazda is better off if you did not own another one. Sometimes, its not worth it keep a customer......

I love firing a client (in a polite way of course).

Guys, this thread is closed, but just an addendum. QUIT WITH THE "GAY" CRAP. If you can't figure out why using "gay" as derogatory slang is a bad thing, I'll be happy to let you think about it for three days off the forum. No matter what your opinion is about gays and their "agenda," it needs to stay out of this forum- and that includes calling everyone and everything you don't like "gay." We are not a group of 5th graders, which is right about the time period in everyone's life when it was socially acceptable to use language like that.

And don't start pulling the "Elara is soooo mean and she won't let us say 'gay' and she won't let us look at naked boobies" junk I keep hearing- you agreed to the TOS when you signed up on this forum, and you are expected to follow it.
