I've been to Hiroshima once before, but it was ages ago. Nevertheless, I found it quite interesting as Hiroshima & Nagasaki are the only two places in the world to have experienced the terrible atomic bomb.
They had a part of the town (the dome) that was left as it was after the blast as part of a memorial. That and especially the peace park museum left a lasting memory on how horrific the atomic bomb blast was. I'm sure things must have changed a lot since my last visit.
To make a special trip from Tokyo is a bit of a stretch. But if one is visiting the Kansai area, places like Osaka, Kyoto and Nara etc., it's not so far from there and probably well worth a visit.

OK, we are agreed. Hiroshima is an inconvenient place to travel to, but if you are there cry at Peace Park, wonder at Miyajima, and laugh at the Bosozoku!!!!
Peace Park is more of a memorial than a musuem though, it is not a multimillion dollar super-duper franchise with animations and everything, but it definitely made me think about what idiots humans are....
