I've heard this before but I find it odd since you have to push down to put it in reverse.

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned, but the single most amazing design feature has to be the placement of the speedometer.

No matter what the person (i.e. wife) in the passenger seat does, it seems to be entirely impossible for them to see the speedo.

One thing I recently noticed was that hood latch opens to the right and most cars are to the left. Makes the car a little more unique lol. All my friends are like "it wont open...*i walk up and tell them*...ohh)

When I pull away from stoplights I ask myself "why is everyone driving so fast".......within 10 seconds I ask my self "why is everyone driving so slow".........within 30 seconds I'm asking myself "why is everyone braking for the corner".........

The braking on the corner part.....

I just lol every morning going to work, my mother and i head the same direction. My mom has a 2013 Camaro SS and flies right by me. When we get to the end of the road their is a truck lane on the right side that is a really sharp turn. When we get to a corner its like she it's standing still as i drop from 6th to 4th, grip the corner and i get out about 2 sec ahead of her....... i love the agility of my RX-8 make me smile so much!!!

ahh the little things

Didn't see it mentioned but the red courtesy lights illuminating the entire door cluster during night time driving.

6port M/T owners can appreciate the noticeable intake pitch change around 4.5K RPM when the extra intake port opens as well

The fact that the rotory is so smooth that you can be listening to the radio and look down and realize oh ****, I didn't even know I was running 5500rpm maybe I should shift lol

Here's an odd one I noticed the other day, although I suspect is is purely coincidental. If you use a Purolater oil filter, when you get it tightened down, you can see the name and part number clear as a bell just by looking down at it from around the fender area. So no more hunting through the book to find which filter to buy if you can't remember, just pop the hood and take a look.

Anyone ever notice how the roof handle on the passenger side has a damper in it to prevent it from slamming back when someone lets go?

458

I cleaned the instrument panel plastic a while back and now it's crystal clear

i took a good look at the tacho and the spedo and it looks strikingly close to the one on a ferrari 458!

the LCD panel position and the redline (9000)
and the needle points straight down when it is at 0 rpms

Not sure if it's been mentioned, but my brother noticed in his that the interior dome light shuts off as soon as you stick it in reverse(even when the light is set to on).

i feel special that two people who have posted on this page have my posts in their signatures. lol

btw, i just found this out a couple weeks ago.

It is virtually impossible to 'accidently' lock myself out of my car (2006 rx8 w/fob). I'd have to make a conscious effort to lock myself out....which i have attempted just for ***** n' giggles n' its pretty difficult. lol
