Last Night - driving to Dinner with my family - a riced out Civic decided to pace me and rev up.

LOLZ; it was annoying after a while so I spun it up with the clutch in - the mean sound my engine makes these days plus the BOV sent him scampering off with his tail between his legs....

It's nice to feel like the lion on the road rather than the zebra.

I am a musician so naturally, I keep the volume on my factory bose system on my '04 sitting around 28 most of the time. The car runs so smoothly at 8-9.5 grand that I have to look at the rpms to know when to shift. Also, if I'm not paying attention, I'll catch myself at about 7 in second when I should really be in 5th or 6th for just cruisin. I've had mine a little over a month and I love it. I find excuses to drive.

I've been falling out of love with My RX8 of late and when it disgorged it's water pump last month I just let it sit, broken and sad. Since it's been snowing like an ice-age redux in MD, I've been driving around my Jeep in the meantime. I finally got it to the dealer and had them replace the pump when they told me it also needed a positive battery terminal block. So, $465, massive irritation, and two more weeks later, I picked it up and drove it home. This morning I opted to take it to work. I started it up to a quiet hum, in contrast to my Jeep's intrusive burble. I hit the on ramp at a speed my Jeep would swear defied physics. Then, while sitting behind a rolling road block of traffic, I found a hole. Dropped it to 3rd and just pulled and pulled and pulled. After clearing traffic, and when I finally decided to glance at the speedo, I noticed my morning commute now involved a +100mph sprint. It was so smooth and so effortless I didn't even notice the triple-digits. It had been so long since I'd genuinely enjoyed a drive; much less a drive to work. I smiled. And that, gentlemen & gentlewomen, is what it's all about...

1. I used to drive a Mazda 6 and it really isn't a bad car to drive - but even with the rear view mirror dipped, I used to feel half blinded at night on the freeway, and the low-beam headlights never seemed to show me enough of the road ahead. Now I have xenon headlamps and an auto-dimming mirror and... I cannot overstate how great it is being able to see both to the front and behind me... I can never go back.

2. Stuck in traffic? Select the gear that puts your revs between 3000 and 4000, play with the throttle, making very gentle adjustments... and listen to the engine. Being stuck in traffic is fun!

3. The size and feel of the steering wheel. These are just right.

heres a big thing about it, the brakes I love how fast this thing slows down. A truck almost crashed into me today after he spun out went over a median and ended up inches from my front end thankfully i was able to stop in time.

  1. Filling up with 93 Octane
  2. Using a quart of Royal Purple Synthetic every 500 miles
  3. My monthly note
  4. Insurance
  5. Speeding Tickets

All jokes aside;
  • The friendly beep barely heard above the 9,000 rpm engine and exhaust sex in my ears
  • The speed and power at which the windows move up and down lol
  • Driving like I'm drunk when I'm sober - Swirving back in forth on the road just to feel the response of the car
  • The brakes
  • The R3 Rims - Pure Sex
  • The Rotar Shape in the Rims
  • Rocker switches on the steering wheel instead of lame buttons

Not having to get out of the driver seat and flip the seat forward so a person can get in and sit behind me. Love it!

Oh yea...it's been mentioned before a hundred times, but how many cars show your speed while going in reverse? Cool little thing indeed.

This past Saturday I was busy detailing her any my little brother came to hang out with me, well seeing how he just got his permit I decided to let him drive it around the block a few times. After the little "test drive" he came out saying that he wants one too, not only that but he can't stop going on about how he had to think a lot later into a turn before turning the wheel since she's so responsive. Anyways the little thing I've noticed is most people who drove it absolutely love the way these things handle and give me compliments all the time.

the impossible ability of this car to never seem to run out of grip in a dry corner, and the scream of the motor when winding it out to 9,000 rpm
