The 'switch' is a band about the left control stalk, just in from the tip. Rotate it forward or back.

Surprisingly many people do not read the owners manual. I remember after buying the car and even after much research I found "little" things I did not know.

My favorite thing about this car is being told if I baby the car (only drive below 4000 RPM), I may kill it early.

I also like the fact that I can park my car in the "compact car" parking spaces that is usually reserved for Hippies that think their prius is going to save the world.

Finally had someone pull up next to me at a red light and ask "Is that one of them rotary engines?! No pistons, huh?"

Well I must say I've read all this and you guys made me decide to get rid of my stealth and go for an 8 after reading all the pages!, 35 long days await me from my rx8 but my favorite little thing is how stylish the seats are!

Awesome! Make sure you make a hello thread in RX-8 Discussion once you get it

And it helps boost my opinion that this thread has sold more 8s than any single salesman ever has.

How about the fact that, I haven't missed the car once since trading her in, yet reading this, I get this pang in my heart, and I need to hear my straight pipe 9k with nitrous, and hit a turn at 60 without breaking a sweat.

Having the option to decide if you want to slow down for that dry hard right-hander, or just hang on while you power thru. I tend to go with the latter.

The recent Road and Track article on the Aston Martin Rapide compares the $200K Aston to the RX8 saying "like the RX8 if you never look in the rear view mirror you'd never know you weren't driving a 2 seat machine."

Not bad for a 6 year old car.

After driving to Banff and back in an old-ish 4Runner, the single biggest thing I missed was the feedback of the pedals and steering. Of course there's also acceleration and handling that I missed, but when there's freezing rain and snow 4WD is worth it!

Not everyone drives one!

Besides the way the car looks, and drives, and how comfortable it is inside, I LOVE the fact that I really have to look to see other 8s and I only see them about once a week. Then, when you pull up along another 8, you look over, smile and nod or give the thumbs up.

I hate driving a car where you can be driving down the freeway and you notice that there are like 4 of the same models in a row and you are driving one of them. blechhh

Had my 8 for 7 months now and I still look for reasons to go out and drive it... Hey babe, looks... looks like we need milk... I'll go get some!

I do the same thing... I have hadmy 2009 GT for about 6 weeks or so and I still havent seen another 2009-2010. I rarely see another rx-8 period! I love that! So what if the Nissan gets from 0-60 faster, there is always another car faster than that, and then another one faster than that one... who cares.

this thing is fun to drive, rewards your efforts in driving by that fantastic noise and such crisp precise handling. And with all of that, I don't have to worry about driving to a high school and seeing 32 of these things sitting in the parking lot like you do with the Mustang or Nissan.

That and I get to look at it all day through the window in my office!

Some people say the a/c on the older models sucks.

Here's my little thing:

The a/c rewards me by getting colder the harder I drive it!

Maybe that's just me.

I bought my RX-8 46 days ago and it's an absolute joy to drive. The gorgeous lines are the main things that sold me on this car. The handling seriously surprised me. It was an amazing treat to go from building muscle cars, to owning this nimble and graceful machine. I daydream every day just sitting, finding reasons to go drive.

For all the people who say the 8 is slow and not worth it: I'm a police officer and drive a blown 05 hemi-charger 483hp at the wheels. I drive it upwards of 80 hours a week and the thing i look forward to the most is going home and seeing my 8 in the driveway, caressing her hood so she doesn't become jealous, and then taking her for a ride through the WV mountains above my house. It honestly doesn't even compare.

I read through every single post on these 49 pages so I won't sit here and repeat everything that I love about this car. Some of those posts even choked me up a little. Ive been in the muscle car club for about 11 years now and those guys don't have near the passion some of you have for your car. This community is amazing. Thank you for all the things I have learned reading through your posts and thank you again for the things I will learn in the future. If any of you are out my way and would like to go on a drive through the twisties of the WV mountains with no worry of a speeding ticket, send me a PM.

Glad you are loving the beauty of this car! Hmmm, beautiful West Virginia in the summer, twisties, no tickets.... might have to take a trip.
