The Little Things
I love the fact that it's been 5 years and I still look back at this car in the parking lot. 5 years! I love how it's fully paid off and I can put that money where it belongs.
I love the sound of the Racing Beat exhaust.
I love the fact that at 50,000mi, it still looks brand new. I get dents pulled out of my doors as fast as I can.
I think people who ding doors in parking lots should be dragged out into the street and shot.
People who ding doors in 8's should be tortured and then shot.

New RX-8 owner here.
I love it that the RX8s aren't a dime a dozen around my part, unlike the ubiquitous Infiniti G35s/G37s....
I love it that the insurance companies consider the RX8 a 4dr coupe and not a sports car. I'm paying $100+ LESS a year for the RX8 compared to a non-turbo 4cylinder CX-7 we were eyeing....
I love it that the RX8 looks expensive but is actually relatively cheap after the rebate. (It was actually cheaper than the CRV, Rav4, Forester, Outback, and CX7 that we were considering....)
...so that's why we ended up buying an RX8....

My new little things - taking car to get shipped and noticed I had a tire with low air pressure- pop-ed out the air inflater and BAM, problem solved. I didn't even know that thing was back there!
is this on all the models from 04-09???
Good my first post as I am a new member, bought my RX8 2004 red just before X-mas, from Riaan to Riaan. I am tuned in for detail, the rotor shape steering wheel, gear lever, headrest, on the front and back spoiler and the best the small rotor shapes in the headligts !!!!!!!!!!
Yes, the colour, people say they have never seen such a bright red, what I like the most is the clitter if the 8 are parked in the sun!!!!!!!! I am on my way to look for the other rotor shapes
Owned my 05 GT for about a month. Heres a couple things that come to mind.
- Sunglasses holder
- Flip up center console w/ ac plug for my phone
- The tiny slot from the middle compartment to the cupholder where i can put my phone charger cord so i can charge my phone in the cupholders
- Auto-dimming rearview mirror
- Heated side mirrors for defrosting
- Rear cupholders
- And everything else mentioned in this thread.
Red Line
I love the variable LED redline. When the engine is cold and it shows the 5K redline to the getting warm 7K then the engine is nice and warm, drive it like you stole it 9k.
After all these years of ownership, my RX-8 still provides me with an engaging driving experience.
Still love the communicative steering.
Still enjoy rowing the 6spd gear lever.
Still amazes me with its agility prowess.
Still get excited seeing the red tach needle sprinting to the 9000rpm redline*.
Still get a tingle listening to the Renesis screaming.
Still the sexy car as ever before.
*At around 5-6000rpm, the top part of the needle has a blue twinkle when the headlights are on. Very neat.

Found this out a couple days ago. At first i thought was lucky but then realized it was designed this way...
The flip out key is actually two pieces. If it hits the ground for whatever reason, the majority of the time it'll break at the seam right below the mazda emblem on the key. You can simply reconnect the pieces and it'll still work! I was so stoked. I thought i broke my key....lol

I don't think it's specifically designed to create down force. Mazda just couldn't get the glass panel to tuck under the roof due to the lack of space, so they had no choice but to pop the panel above the roof.
