Ok, let's get this straight: this thread is not meant to be negative at all, and in fact is intended for all those who continue to LOVE their RX-8s.
As the yang to the yin of our other thread, what are some of the "little things" that you wish were just a bit better on the 8? What small things do you find annoying? What doesn't belong here are all the usual gripes--engine failure, fuel economy, etc.--just the minor issues that maybe none of us have talked about before.
The 8 is one of the most thoughtfully engineered and designed cars I have come across. The hope is that maybe there are simple fixes or workarounds for these little things, so that we can enjoy our cars even more.
So let's begin:
1. Doors swing a bit too easily--wish the notches caught better, so that wind or simply momentum would stop closing the door on my leg!
2. One-touch sunroof--wish the switch was a two-level switch like the power window switch, full press for open all the way, half press as a momentary switch. Most of the time I just want to partially open my sunroof, not fully open it!
3. No good place to put my smartphone--where do you all keep it? Don't want an ugly external mount, and as for the cup holder, prefer the clean look of having the cover closed. Slides around too much on console around shifter. Where to put it? For me ends up on passenger seat.
