List things that you dont want to see in the next rx Car.
I love Mazda, and I love rotaries, so I'll see when/if the car comes out, but I know I'll be frustrated if the car is "underpowered" or "slow".
Yup.
The issue people have with NA bolt-ons not giving much gain is because NA, the engineers didn't back off from max NA output much at all, unlike ALOT of piston cars out there. THe 02 Corolla for example could gain 10-15hp just from removing the stock air box, and it's 50+ feet of sound (and mind) baffling pathways. You can't improve much from bolt ons with the NA 8 simply because it is nearly as good as it can possibly be stock. IF they had de-tuned it enough that bolt-ons would make a drastic difference, then I doubt anyone would have bought it in the first place.
I expect the 16x will improve from advancements in design, but I also expect they will wring just about every bit of power they can out of it in it's stock NA form, and the bolt-on gains will still be minimal. Remember, Mazda supports tracking of their cars, and that is in direct contradiction to manufacturers which don't, and detune like crazy to get durability and reliability out of them.

Like all the NA mods you can bolt on to the RX-8 to get more tq? I think Mazda is going to have to wring every hp/tq out of the platform possible to be able to even reach their target numbers. Much like the RX-8 I expect extremely negligable gains from bolt on aftermarket parts for the 16X. Thats a lot of disappointed people when the intake and exhaust they get for the new car nets them +5 hp at best. An extra 300cc and a couple of hundred lbs lost is not going to be a miracle pill for the rotary and it has a lot of competition in it's price range.

What I don't want to see in the next Mazda RX
-A radio that breaks everytime you attempt to remove it
-The dirty wire filled engine bay
-The small trunk
-The center console
-The useless side mirrors(id like to see the euro mirrors that curve outward)
-A useless oil pressure guage
-A cupholder behind the shifter
-91 Octane Rating
-The not so quality Bose

I can understand why some people would want more speed/power but I am glad that I don't have to spend more money on bolt-ons.
I like that Mazda is getting to most out of their cars [or I should say the rotaries].

The number one thing I don't want to see in the next RX car is a naturally aspirated motor. The number two thing is a curb weight over 2800 lbs. Small, light, and turbocharged is what I want out of the next rotary car from Mazda. If they can't provide that, my next car won't be a rotary as much as I love them.
I've been thinking this for months!
-how about a sunroof bigger then six inches i swear its the smallest one ive ever seen
and
-how about power back corner windows like the m3s have intead of 80 style mini-van window latches
-big brake optioins would be nice its the perfomance car of mazda why not brembo options and shave down on the triangles everywhere around the car

- Lose the back seat. It's not a family sedan.
- Lose the weight. We don't need all that padding and insulation, it's not a luxury liner.
- Lose the cup holders. You're not gonna eat/drink in my car.
- Lose the heavy glass. Lexan FTW
