Intersting news from a fellow Mazda enthusiast(speed3)
So as helping a friend try to find a mazdaspeed3 we stopped by a Nissan dealership which just got a trade in speed3 yesterday..while talking to the saleperson(which is a big mazda enthusiast and has spent alot of time at the local mazda dealership searching for another speed3) he informed me that "mazda is putting the 3 rotor in the 2010 RX8" of course i tried to explain to him that it would almost never happen because of cost, fuel mileage, emissions etc..he claims that mazda is already started on it..
However i cannot see this happening (as much as id like to see it). what do you guys think anybody heard of this or work for mazda heard of this?

so you think a salesperson at a nissan dealership would hear about something like this before-- me , RG, Brillo, Ash, Mazmart, Bern, Boowanna , Icemark, DrKillJoY the 5 or 6 "known" mazda salespeople/service techs?

that's how amazing mazda's PR department is. They go out of their way to inform Nissan sales guys about their upcoming secret projects, while keeping their own people in the dark.

^HAHA, that would be awesome. BTW 1-rotor has been done already, I think Suzuki made a 1 rotor motorcycle. I agree with Zoom though, someone other than a Nissan salesperson would know more about the goings on at Mazda.

Well, my wife is the service manager at our local Hyundai dealership and she said she heard that the new 8 was gonna be equipped with the new Hyundai Genesis motor. I swear it!

it would be nice if mazda gave the 8 300hp and a sub 5 sec time to compete on paper with the other guys but in the 3D world I still wouldnt trade my 8 for a 350 or stang or any other 05+ w/ low miles/warranty. Im going to test drive a 370 but Ive got a feeling it still crashes over large bumps and sounds like an altima. the syncromatch sounds cool though but I wouldnt buy for a couple years anyway. Still a lack of seats which is why so many Mustangs sell I suppose. The masses will give up handling for 0-60 times with a back seat for thier kiddies.

Trust me i didnt' believe it for a second when i heard but i thought i would give u guys some brain candy to ponder on haha... This guy like alot of salesmen THOUGHT he knew about cars until i started pointing out things that he was explaining about the speed3....for example he said"yeah put a turbo timer on and it will b stupid fast" I reply, you mean boost controller? he said" no turbo timer the guy that owned it before had one" after that i went on to explain the differnces etc etc......
all of this was when i had my Automotive school shirt on that is 3 blocks up the street and he was trying to act like i didn't know!!!haha...
but like i said before figured i would just let u guys get a laugh out of this! haha

I sold my RX8 five mos ago and bought a brand new 08 Speed 3.....still have less than 5k on it. I know I'll probably get flamed for this but I actually enjoy driving my stock speed 3 more than the modded 8 I had. The main reasons are comfort and power....the two things I thought the 8 lacked. Yeah, I know the 8 looks better than the Speed 3 but having a small kid I needed a car I could use on a daily basis. The Speed 3 is fun to drive but seeing how I never keep a car for a long period of time I'm now considering an IS350.

Rob brought down the 63 for display and to make sure things ran smooth for Pirate Motorsports. They had just bought and took delivery of a ROAR Racing build. They didn't have a very good weekend, they blew a couple fuses and it put the car in limp mode...once they figured that out the motor went.

its not nearly as fast as a 3071r in the rx8. however, you can upgrade the turbo, boost controller, etc on a ms3 and then it's pretty nice... except for the wrong wheel drive part.

ludicrous. i have a 4 year old and a 6 month old and I'm mostly a stay at home Dad for both of them. the RX-8 is the car i bought before they were born with children in mind. they both came home from being born in it. i take them both in it with me to do the grocery shopping. I can fit both strollers in it plus extra stuff when we need it. this is the car i use on a daily basis to go anywhere with them. even when my wife had her subie wagon we generally took the 8. Now that she has the 5 we do more in it but its still me and the boys in the 8 75% of the time.
I'd have it no other way.

yeah i am sure the 3071 turbo would tear a speed3 up hell prob even the entry level greddy turbo would give it a good run! but i hear u when u say "wrong wheel drive" ill never go back to FWD for a "sports car" maybe aDD or something but not for sportts car
