Well, I'm no longer losing it. My mom (who's the main name on the car, I co-signed) called and threatened to bring a lawyer into it, so they agreed and "found" a bank that will give me a loan.

They were able to actually find a bank to give you the loan? What a suprise!

I'm sure your Mom's mention of the word "lawyer" didn't have anything to do with things getting resolved.

Glad it's resolved! Enjoy your 8.

WOW. They were just trying to scam you, plain and simple. Must have thought that they could get you to pay for the miles on the car, and then they could sell it to someone else. That's outta hand.

Hopefully you have another nearby dealer where you can get your service. If I were you, I wouldn't ever set foot in that dealership again, and I definitely wouldn't bring my car there!

Very good news! Now you should document and report all of this to Mazda North America.

Talking Cash Money!

I am one of lucky foo, who have money to pay cash for my 8; but to others running into similar probs with dealer and loans; always threaten with lawyers, then call lawyer. Usually threat works, if not; then prepare to pay a good lawyer to go over your contract. I am also one of the lucky foo who has a very good lawyer as a client, but kudos to you for being able to keep your car.

Well, my mom called the dealership and told them they weren't getting the car back. Period. They either had to find a bank that WOULD give me a loan or she was going to bring a lawyer into it.

They called me a day later and said they found a bank, and I was getting a lower interest rate as well.

The finance guy has no idea wtf happened (or so he says), but he took care of it and I even got a free month out of this whole thing

These friggin dealerships are full of BS i guess they are always looking at the bottomline even if it comes at the expense of losing a customer, not all dealerships are like that but then again i have a very good credit history and because of my age iam considered low risk

this is funny on how all of you freak out on this, the dealer had nothing to do with it the banks did, and the fact that her mother mentioned lawyer had nothing to do with it either, she became the primary owner on the car, her mother has credit history she doesnt and thats the final thing. but i guess this cituations dont happen often to white people, i tryed to get my car 2 times before i actually got it, first time i had 10,000 down on a 36,000 car, denied, no credit history, 2nd time 15,000 down had my father co-signed with me got the loan guess what my Dominican A!@ cant pay 9200 a year on insurance alone so cancelled. the 3rd time a friend of mines offered to put the car under his name, insurance and everyting and thats how im drivin my car today. so dont act like the dealer was being and jerk in the end they wouldve lost cause you already drove the car for a while so now an new car becomes used.

Try again. It's a well documented scam-read the entire thread. Has nothing to do with what color you are and everything to do with greedy dealers.
