If you love your 8.. Call this ph# about recall.

I just called mazda about this new recall.. Said they are going to send notices to those who qualify by priority mail in a couple of weeks but you have to call and give your vin to see if you qualify. Here's the number if any of you need it 1-800-222-5500. They also said that they are going to run test on the cars but are predicting that very few people will need engine swaps... Most people's 8 can be fix by some new software they created to reprogram the cpu. Also, I'm sure most of you know but just in case there were 4 other older recalls that are still being honored.. Give your vin and they will tell you if your car is affected.. For all of you that know.. Sry to be repedative.. But for those of you who didn't know.. Well,,,,, Your welcome..

ah i misunderstood what spotster20 was saying so let me clarify -

for those of you who have purchased your RX-8 USED it is a good idea to call the 800 number and make sure they have you on record as the owner. in theory mazda would cross check with DMV records for the mailing but it would be prudent of you to take care of it yourselves . also if you did buy the car used check witht he 800 number or your local dealer to make sure there are no other open recall work to be done. might as well hav eit all done at teh same time

Just like to state for the record: Zoom44, you offer good advice, always. Somtimes I get so sick of the folks here that just live for the opportunity to trash someone (read Ike). Thanx for your input......................

Zoom I registered my car at the Mazda site and it says I have no open recalls, I registered after I got a letter from Mazda itself about buying the 8. Think I should still call to double check or am I just worrying to much because my dealers are trained spider monkeys that eat their own feces?
