If Mazda Offered a Sequential Twin Turbo System SKU

If Mazda Offered a Sequential Twin Turbo System SKU
if Mazda Offered a new version of the RX8 along side of the normal one, with a sequential Twin Turbo or a supercharger (can a rotary even be supercharged?) boasting 50 - 100 more Horsepower for $40,000 (like $10k more)
would you opt for that version?
this has prolly been asked before but IDK

Not if it was $10k more.
It'd be something to go for if it was $2-5k more then a N/A 8.
I could just get an N/A one and get supercharged or turbo'd with a lot of extra goodies for $10k

I'd like to think that a factory supercharged or turbocharged engine would be more reliable than an aftermarket one

Aftermarket companies do a lot of work to compete with other companies. I'd assume that the aftermarket F/I kits would produce more results and be just as, if not more, reliable.
Plus it'd still be cheaper :P

If there was a factory FI package, the aftermarket would be full of 'chips' to turn it up to the point of failure - do you know anybody who owns an STI or Evo, or even a diesel truck, that doesn't have a 'boost crank' chip?
(can a rotary even be supercharged?) ....Here's your sign!

Well it's not like everyone knows everything about cars.
2 years ago I finally got into cars and started to learn more. I really knew nothing. I thought the 8 had a 1 rotor engine and didn't know anything about F/I. I've come a long way.
People just need a helping hand when learning.

Power!!
I voted no because if you knew what you were talking about you'd know a sequential turbo is an outdated concept and they could make 100hp for 5K from the factory.

Hell I still think I know damn near nothing when it comes to cars, and even I'd tell you that a sequential turbo setup for an additional 10 grand producing a measley exta 50-100 hp is a ridiculous notion. I mean people are out there with daily drive single turbo setups that are adding over 100 extra hp to the wheels. Mazda would have only offered the option if the engine were designed with FI in mind, meaning a better job maintaining the seals then the current design, among other things.
Hell, Esmeril is looking to bring 400+ whp cars to the floor, so that's about an additional 200 whp, for about the same 10 grand (figuring the kit, engine management, and even upgraded seals and ignition). Course, you'd need a better clutch and probly a beefier tranny for that much power too. But you get the picture. A single turbo is capable of much on its own.

and I figured $10k more would be around what an OEM turbo upgrade would cost

In this economy they'd have to knock off a chunk of that price tag, lol
But if they had created a turbo 8 trim I would have opted for it, not anymore though. I can't even get a job!
