The real challenge is to accelerate fast enough to get the road-runner "beep- beep"! :p

I found it and uploaded it to my server. Here's the video tribute to the durability of the rotary:

Grab it in the next couple of days before I take it off...

Pardon my naivette, but why would it be a good thing to redline it, this is my first rotary and frankly, I have always known it to be bad, please educate this dumb Canadian hillbilly, hehe

Apparently rotary engines are perfectly content to "rev on the redline" (can anyone name the song reference?) all day long wihtout hurting it. Not true for a piston engine so much.

I'd "hit it" as often as possible! :D

Auto Bahn Baby! Yep, daily occurance in third! That beep is my crack pipe, just can't get enough

IIRC, there really is no blue light, the tach needle just appears blue at about 7500 to 8k because it picks up (reflects?) the blue dash illumination at a particular spot of travel.

In the 8 I like to beep when i can. I took my v-8 piston to 9000 no beep :-(
(specially tuned chevy 350 will go to 10,000 if needed). I like getting in rpm wars with other cars, small town full with people that don't know what a rotary is, needless to say I always win. hehe

First beep around 1600 miles. Now I'll be beeping all the time. I'm a beep-a-holic.

I'm a new RX-8 owner here and I've just reached 1600 miles on her. Tonight I beeped her for the first time. What a heart pounding moment that was. At one point while showing off to the local "Fast and Furious" wannabe crowd I accedintally reached 10,000 RPM. I thought the motor was a done for.

Do I have anything to worry about running the engine at 10,000 on accident?

The Revl imiter is at 9350rpm. I go there all the time. In my FB and FC which used to have a rev limiter I would hit 10000rpm, but not often. I was not woried ablut the engine but was concerned about the flywheel. I belive this is the reason for the 9000rpm redline. I have been told the engine is stable to around 13000 rpm at which point harmonics start to damage the engine.
