I bought my '04 used.

Here's the short story ...
I had researched the hell out of the car, and knew i wanted an 8.
On the day I was going to buy it, I had planned to go to the dealer and buy new.
A friend of mine was looking for used cars and went with me.
We ended up at a used car lot, and in the showroom was my baby ...
A beautiful black '04, fully loaded.
Only 11,000 miles.
I drove it and fell in love.
Immediately after the test drive, I went to the dealer and drove a '06.
Same car!

Hers's the part that concerns you...
The dealer offered to sell me the identical car in an 06 version for $32k and change.
The '04 was priced $23K.
After comparing the two I couldn't justify the additional $9K, but I let the dealer "swing in the breeze" for two days.
Long story short ... the dealer dropped his price to $30k.
There are deals to be made. With fuel prices what they are, this car is not flying off the shelves.
Even though I bought the '04, you can hold out for a great deal if you are patient.

lol Diesel TDI, ha ha ha, omg. My last car was a loaded Passat v6. I really loved the fit and finish on the VW but It's surely not a sports car. I don't think he ever drove the 8. I always wondered what people were talking about with RWD sports cars. The dialed in feeling of pushing the car through a turn. It's just fun. You'll never get that with FWD.

That'll teach me to be nice. What a maroon.
