Hi Everyone. I come to ask for help. My transmission went south more like to hell. So i decide to do it myself since I have all the tools except a car lift but car jack did the trick.
I dropped everything that is supposed to. Today I finally removed the transmission. I know I had to get home one way or another. I couldn't stop till i get to my exit. so look the picture below and tell me how bad it looks and how bad is to replace that part if needed ( It does needed lol )
what is the name of that rod messed up ROD because i can't find it anywhere.
On second look, the copper coloured flat disc is what's left of your throw-out bearing. I suppose the mangled race is as well. Yes it needs to be replaced, it's completely destroyed.
[edit] just realized that's not a race, that's the actual input shaft sleeve. I think that comes with the input shaft bearing cover? You may want to look for a new trans. Replacing the input shaft cover shouldn't be hard, but I'm not sure about adding preload to the bearing before you close it up, so I'd just as soon play it safe and get an undamaged trans. Taking it out again for input bearing replacement will suck.
Can you write in sentences? Super hard to make sense of what you're saying.
The part in red is your input shaft bearing cover. The part in yellow is what the throw-out bearing sits on.
Throw out bearing not pushing on new clutch all the way
Hey guys so my clutch blew last summer and i bought a new clutch and throw out bearing put it all back together bleed the clutch but now it doesnt actually engage cant start the car because even with new clutch its not engaging so its turning over everything so gears are spinning too. Any ideas how to fix it thanks
^^That’s pretty hard to mess up, but nothing surprises on here any more.
Are you sure it’s bled properly? How does the pedal feel and react?
yeah bled it several times with vacuum and manually. I orded new master cylinder and slave cylinder as well grasping at ideas. Everything was installed properly. Family has few mechanics in it and they helped and made sure it was done properly but they are as lost as i am about why it wont work
The hydraulics are the most likely.
The clutch in this car is a PIA to bleed.... one of the worst that I have ever had to deal with. Not sure why.... but they are best bled with a pressure bleeder.
make sure you keep the reservoir topped off FULL... it's hard to tell if the clutch part has fluid in it when the plastic gets old
Did you check the clutch push rod to make sure there isn't a lot of free play... usually if there is there is something wrong with the mechanical part.... but it can be adjusted for some makeup
