its better than nothing.
DUDE! Autocross! Usually about $30 or so to your local SCCA chapter or Mazda club or BMW club (all allow "outside" brands to run) - you can usually get in at least a five or more runs - yes each run is only 30 seconds to a minute, but, it is a total blast, and is an adreneline rush for a very quick period.

And autocross is not very hard on the car at all - unlike track days which are REALLY hard on the car.

Cool, go for it on the A-Cross track.

Sounds like you got the need for speed. What the hell, it's your car! Enjoy it!

So I whent back out to the races. Here are my improvements, 32psi, about 50* F. 1/4 tank of gas. I got 2 runs :

rt - .0169
60 - 2.4151
1/8 - 9.1031
1/4 - 15.0431
mph- 89.06
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
rt - .0980
60 - 2.3708
1/8 - 9.1960
1/4 - 15.1398
mph - 92.06
so I managed to cut almost half a second off compared to my first run. Why is it that on the second run of the night, I got a worse 1/4 mile (15.13) then the first run (15.04), even though I got a better launch, I shifter better, and my Mph is higher?
Reaction Time doesn't factor into the actual 1/4 mi time. You got basically the same launch looking at the 60', same 1/8, and same 1/4 time. 9 hundreths of a second is barely any difference. Is the reaction time really to 4 decimal places or do you have a 0 that shouldnt be there?
Yea, it is to the 4th decimal places. I know those are pretty good rt's huh lol. all my friends kept thinking that I jumped it. So shouldnt my mph be at aroud 94 or 95 mph? my car just hit 25000. i bought it at 23000 and the back tires where compleatly gone, so im pretty sure he drove it pretty hard. do you think i need to replace coils/spark plugs?
2.3 60' is good for 15s.
you need 2.1 or less for mid 14s.
runs i've done with a 2.1 60' resulted in 14.6, 14.7.
dont worry about the light, worry about the launch. you can worry about the light once you get your launching down. even if you sit there for 2-3 seconds.
I got a 15.0 with no technique and chirping tires each shift and a grinding 4th gear (2.3XX 60' time) When your ET isnt good, look at your 60' and if thats shitty, youve found your problem; you suck at launching
