Sorry for the noob question, but what does this gearing change accomplish? My understanding of gearing is rather basic.

Sorry,
Smokey

It helps your car drink more gas.

Ah, so this lowers the gearing ratio thingy?

I.e. at a given speed the engine ravs higher?

its will basically make the car faster while highering the gearing, say you're doing 70 mph and before you would be in 6th gear with the rpms at 3500 rpms, now the rpms will be closer to 4000 rpms. But when going 0-60 it will be faster.

Makes the car quicker.

It is similar to starting out in a lower gear than we already have. But it keeps it through all the gears. So effectively the car gets going quicker. Wouldn't take as long to get up to 150

Downside is it will be at a higher RPM while cruising.

The stock gearing for the final drive is 4.444, the Feed is 4.777.

This makes a significant difference

My uncle has done this to all of the sports cars he owns.

Probably wouldn't have to touch the gas when taking the clutch out for normal driving either

the sound will remain the same, just the mathematics of the gears change.

Just drive your car at 4000rpm, then 4500rpm. that will pretty much be the sound differance.

May be referring to how much quicker the shifts have to be made.

It will have to shift quicker with the FEED 4.777.
