Sorry for the noob question, but what does this gearing change accomplish? My understanding of gearing is rather basic.

Makes the car quicker.
It is similar to starting out in a lower gear than we already have. But it keeps it through all the gears. So effectively the car gets going quicker. Wouldn't take as long to get up to 150 ;) Downside is it will be at a higher RPM while cruising. The stock gearing for the final drive is 4.444, the Feed is 4.777. This makes a significant difference ;) My uncle has done this to all of the sports cars he owns. |
Probably wouldn't have to touch the gas when taking the clutch out for normal driving either :D:
