The water is boiling out of the overflow, so im gussing it is up to temp. I did a cpu reset in the winter. Would this effect the temp settings? Also when cycling through the odom stick it says 335 385 for temp.

If it's 335+ you have a problem

Since water boils at 212. ( 100C ) unless you have major pressure you won't get temps that high unless the sensor is wrong

Sounds like you need help......find a mechanic you trut nd let them have a look at it

Im a pretty good mechanic but this is stumping me. The only thing I can think of is the cpu needs to be reset. I hate doing it because if the time it takes to learn the trims again ugh ;(

Thanks for your help guys. I had work done a couple months ago and had the ect sensor replaced, so I thought. I tried taking off the sensor again and to my surprise it was never changed at all. The idiot broke the sensor off in the block and just jb welded the thing in place so it wouldn't leak. I cant believe a mechanic would do that. Anyways contacted the owner of the dealership and it is there now after being towed, to be fixed the right way. Hopefully at no charge.

Ok I need help I really suck at electrical . My car started to over heat I don't let it pass 1/2 the stock gauge . I notice only the driver side fan works , the other one didn't turn on and it hit the 1/2 way mark , I took off plug off the second fan ( passenger side ) and when I jump with battery it turn perfect I moved by hand and freely moved . What do I do next . I'm going to turn on again and leave AC off and see if driver side fan turns on , if it's relay witch one do I replace .
Thanks guys

It also means a failure of any relay can disable both fans in certain modes. A relay failure shouldn't blow a fuse though.

I think both fans should run at the same speed. That is all I have ever seen. Either both fans on low, or both fans on high. Just one fan running will blast the hot air back through the radiator the other way and cause an overheat.

Quick test, turn on AC (already mentioned here), both fans should run. Slower test, look at the mods in the Congrats thread (below) for the fans on low mod. I will will tell you how to force them on low with just the key on.

JP Cooling fan issue.. Maybe

Had my engine rebuilt. Sounds good. Only problem now I was told is that when my cooling fans goes to turn on if shuts of my engine. Was told that it may be a shortage in the fan somewhere and I should have the cooling fan replaced]d. Can anyone clarify this and what is going on?

A lot of resistance is needed to blow a 40 amp breaker and this speaks to the cooling fan bearings going bad causing the stress on the motor to try and turn a bad bearing. I haventt taken one apart yet but i took the heat pump motor(po2259) apart and found a basic roller skate bearing in it that failed, the motor was good, just replaced the roller skate bearing. Maybe if you have the know how take the fan motor that turns hard apart and check the bearing/bearings out and replace.

Fans don't come on

So I have a prosport water temp gauge on my car. I've been watching the temp go up and down. Finally came down to it that is my fans not turning on.

I changed my thermostat to a mishimoto. Also changed the coolant and water pump. It worked for a while and then back to square one. My car runs up to 234ºF when I go up hill. Once I go down hill then it cools to 170ºF. I get why it goes down.

So I tested my radiator fans and connected to my battery to see if they would spin with power. Both the fans turn on. I changed Relay 1,2 also the 40 amp fuse is good. I'm wondering why my fans don't turn on. I just ordered the Cooling Fan Relay 3. That's my last thing I can think of. After that I'm not to sure on what it could be.

Also my grammar is horrible sorry.
