I may be the only one stupid enough to try this, but I can fit a full-size road bike into the back seat area (I haven't tried the trunk). Just throw an old blanket down in the back, push the passenger seat all the way forward and down, and take the front wheel off to put it in the trunk. It's a tight fit, especially if you make sure not to get your interior dirty with the chain or tires. You need to rotate the frame somewhat upright to get it in there. Oh, and make sure there's no one parked next to you on the passenger side. You'll need the room to manuever the bike in there.

The reason I find this thread amusing is that I completely don't doubt that! I'm sure there are funnier stories of people who have stuffed weirder things into their 8 and made it work. Heck, I went to IKEA a week ago and stuffed so much cabinet stuff into the passenger side, carpet through the rear pass through and bits and bobs in the trunk, I thought it would never fit. Only sore point is that I had to tell my GF to take a taxi home, which she agreed, no space on the passenger seat...heck, I paid for her taxi fare

Put mine in the back seat once last year---that was enough. I'd say get a hitch rack or a beater for your bike. I just didn't like getting grease and scratches around the interior.

Theres a thread here somewhere where somebody put a huge remote control airplane with like 10' wingspan in their 8. I'm too lazy to search, but you can if you wish to see it.

I'm going to make my rear seats foldable. It's just ridiculous that they're not. There's no reason for it.

lol this is amazing, if you own the car why do you even ask? its not going to fit, you can barely fit a regular size computer case there... always people from Jersey...

no offense, but surely this was a joke, right?

Fitting a full-size suitcase is a feat in itself, much less a langky, awkward shaped bike. Even removing the tires and all, I'm pretty sure the frame on a MB would be too large.
