Did my car just get faster?
Its just now getting cold down here in florida (high 30's low 40's), I couldnt help but notice my car is now a lot faster in accellerating since the temperature drop. Is this all in my head?

No....your car is definately faster. I noticed the same thing when we had our first cold morning in Michigan...about 30 degrees. My car had sufficiently warmed up, and I was getting on the freeway. It was soooo much faster, that I almost rear ended a semi as I was looking over my shoulder to merge into the middle lane. I was accelerating hard, and typically I would have had plenty of time to look and keep the pedal down....not this time. However, we have had 3 straight days of single digit temps....and the 8 is still very powerful, but my fuel mileage has dropped significantly from my already low avg 14.5mpg to a very depressing 9mpg with the same mixed driving.

Yeah, and the cold really helps your tires too, it makes sure they don't ever break traction
Seriously I have tpms on at while the temp is below 25 with what was proper pressure.

Not sure your thinking that one through....the 8 is equipped with ultra high performance summer tires....in low temperatures the compound that these tire are derived is very hard, and far less grippy. They have ambient operating temps, and summer tires have a much higher and stricter temp range....40f to 155f I believe is the ambient range. Much below 40 and you might as well be riding on your rims....I still have my Dunlops on in Michigan and my 8 slides around quite a bit on dry cold pavement.

It's supposed to get down to -5 here in STL on xmas eve. LAME. But my Subaru may actually seem fast!
In response to the original post, as others have said, yes, colder air makes a car go faster. Colder = more dense = more oxygen to burn. My RX-7 was a different car during the summer. Winter nights = FUN and lots of wheel spin :D
