dealer info

i dont know if you guys care to know this or already know it, but i figured it's worth a shot.

a buddy of mine knows the mazda lot manager here in ohio's biggest car dealer, so we went to talk to him. he said that the rx-8 is to be released in february, but they won't have any until march. stocker price is going to be $26,000 to $30,000 US.... leather with 6-speed will be the top model. the transmission for the autos will be a 5 speed, but not the sportronic model. if you plan on ordering a car, you will have to wait 90-days. mazda is releasing as a cookie cutter, but will alocate car builds after 90 days, and only to dealers who sell all their distributed cars in the first 15 days of possession.

now for the fun news: for you people in the UK.... apparently your rx-8's are ALREADY sitting at dock in japan waiting to leave the port, but won't be in the UK or for sale until october.... lucky!

any conflicting information, please reply. i wanna get this right.

I do not believe this to be true because I still believe that Mazda has not finalized all production specifications and options.

My guess from everything that I have heard is that the production lines will not startup prior to November, my own guess is that December is more likely.

Hey, the sooner the better. I am not buying the car until May of next year, so I will have to wait anyways.

Please, please, let that all be true- if so, as soon as I can order it that lovely 6 speed with all the trimmings will be mine- $30k is about what I wanted to spend (and about what my husband will let me spend)- I so badly need this car- I'm trying to race people at stoplights in a 1993 Ford Taurus station wagon....

You see, you need to take them at the corners! Though I admit a 93 Taurus isn't gonna help ya much

they have'nt started production yet. if they had loaded a ship full of them then somebody would have leaked some pics. does anybody know when the plant is going to shut down for retooling? boowanna? that will be the best indicator for when production is going to start.
