Sleepy-z seemed to be a straight up guy. The engines coming from that location seemed to be better from the previous rebuilds or even early ones from Hiroshima. While his posts seemed to be a positive for Mazda, his managers didn't want him posting here anymore. Corporations like to massage the information that gets released, so the only want it to come from their PR people.

^ Sorry :/
And 14 days ago John said id be in at latest tomorrow (25th) so we shall see...
I am getting relatively sick of Mazda. It really does amaze me how slow they are.
I'll tell you guys tomorrow if it came in or not.

Are you volunteering your car as a platform?
To do a remove/rebuild/install would take some advance planning and I'd have to start thursday at noon to have it back together saturday night so the owner could head home sunday.
Such an owner would also have to pay for all their own parts.

^ I can understand your frustration with the delay and having to rent a car. Still, if it were my 8, I'd be happy I had one of the good dealerships with a good mechanic who seems to know what he's doing.

Two days ago my engine failed the dealer's compression test so we will see how well my "new" engine works. The service rep at the Mazda dealership in Orlando said the engine should be here by the end of this week or early next week so I have a relatively small turn around time, thank god.
It's stupid though how the new engine is covered under warranty, however I still have to pay for new motor mounts (300 some odd) and and upgraded starter per Corporate Mazda's request.
