Thanks in advance
can't be any worse than my dealership. the invoice said 6 quarts of oil were used on my last oil change.

I called my little country Mazda dealer and asked the service writer what oil they used for an RX-8. Without a second's hesitation (no time to look anything up) he said, "The RX-8 uses 5W20."

You know you're in good shape when the service writer has your car's needs memorized. Some service writers don't know a car from a camel.

They did the job for free (first oil change perk) and didn't try to sell me anything. When they finished I drove 1/2 mile, pulled over and checked the dipstick. I've heard too many over-fill horror stories. Nope, it was perfect.

The only problem is that I have to drive 35 miles of twisty, winding country roads to get there. Dammit! :D

Smile Oil changes- speacial tool.

I almost always change my own oil in all my vehichles. But when I went do do the 8 found that problem with needing a speacial filter wrench. I went to my local NAPA and told the counter guy what the problem was. He pointed me to an oil filter cap wrench for motorcycles and atv's. It fit the filter good and worked for me. Might not work on all filters but did great on mine. And cost less than $5.00. Just an option.

Took mine to the dealership and when they took the damn filter off they didn't get aal of the gasket off and put the new filter right on it. Of course no seal, oil mess and smoke smell for days. Worse thing, i drive down the road and pull over to check it out and the guy who did it pulled up and turned around in the same parking lot checking out another car and didn't even bother to stop and tell me. I found this out later. Whoever posted the minimum wage guys do the oil changes I tend to believe. It was ridiculous. At the Air Force base they have a auto center where you can reserve a bay. This probably sounds stupid but I have never used a lift before but I am thinking maybe the will show me and I can change the oil myself there.
