Yeh there are a lot of haters out there. I came across a similar thread in NASIOC not too long ago. It started with a simple question like 'What do you think about the RX8?' Then the hate just came flying from all directions. There were two guys on there who were 8 owners and tried to give the Subie guys some stats and numbers to try to educate them, but they were having none of it. There were a lot of "gay" and "slow" comments there too.
I guess I just don't understand why people think that they can only like one car. I mean there are a lot of really cool cars out there and it's just a shame that people can't see past whatever they are driving and understand that.

 

Face it, these stop light boy-racer kiddies just don't understand the concept of a driver's car. I bet if you bring up the RX8 on a BMW or Porsche board, you'll get nothing but respect for the car.

The 8 is a car for people who are actual drivers. Any idiot can mod a car to go fast in a straight line, and any moron can drive a straight line quarter mile. I'm exaggerating a bit as there's some skill involved in those things, but it's nothing compared to making a well-balanced car and driving it well.

 

From some, but most don't understand. They are either ignorent to it's capabilites. Or they are Fan Boy's (another form of troll) and will dismiss every other car.

just to add my two cents...

I had some dumb **** kid in an older 2 door civic with injen stickers on it cruise next to me today. He kept revving the engine and braking right away, just trying to get me to race him.

Moral of the story, they're just trying to show off. They're all farts and no ****, just learn to ignore them like you would any other cockroach. If it comes down to it, riced out pieces of **** can't deal with the 8's second gear.

 

My frustration is when I'm just minding my own business trying to get home from work or something. A lot of it is an ego thing. People simply cannot let a sporty or fast looking car go by them without a "challange" being made.

In the end, roll races are all about who has the biggest *****. It's about how fast you will go until you let off. That's not a race, it's just a competition to see who can go to jail faster.

The funny/ironic thing about this all is 99% of the retards that do that stuff would get owned on the race track...where real racing happens.

I agree, anymore I roll down my window and just bust into the loudest laughter I can muster. That's enough to get them speeding away.

 

if someone can't appreciate different cars then they are ignorant and not worth speaking to about cars. true car guys can appreciate nearly anything...

 

yea thats the best thing to do...oe just act like ur into racing....then when light goes green...super slow take off and let them buzz off into the night

 

Couldn't agree with you more.... It's hilarious, you can't help but laugh! It gets so bad out there, that I could bee at a light of an intersection.... and from the opposite side they "rev" as they drive by or if they're turning..they have to start sqeeling their tires.....

I'm like, WOW!

hey guys you know what's hilarious...............I tried to register to that site 502streetscene with the same username I have here (hirev8) to respond and add my 2 cents...............I wanted to give an intellectual response one that is based by fact a unbiased opinion of sorts. One that is substantiated with such respected mags like Junes 07 Road and Track issue and review on the 8. Had no intension to bash anyone, just wanted to educate the ignorance. Got a response through one of their mods via email. They said my registration does not fit their criteria thus my registration will be deleted. Mod must be a civic lover!
