as i had suspected, the RX8 only had 835 miles on the odometer (per C&D's posted data sheet). In C&D's long term tester, the car ran about a 15 sec quarter mile when brand new and then ran a 14.6 after 20,000 miles.

...too bad they weren't supplied a broken in car to run

The article to me is a decathalon test so to speak. Overall the 8 sqeaks out the rating but not in the event most people care about. Lane changing, braking, street driving all important, just not important to most drivers.

So much for breaking that car in properly.

I just read the article and have to say congrats to the RX-8. As others have stated what really suprised me was the new TT. The new TT's weight, straight line speed, handling/road course times, and breaking is damn impressive. I was expecting it to be a glorified GTI. I would like to see what a chipped TT could do.

Now someone tell me why on the base model they put that it cost 31k when a base model RX-8 is 27k?

Depends on the person. Great handling with a nice ride are high on many people
s lists.
