Let's see. My "fake" job was paying me $25 an hour (on average) and on top of that quarterly bonuses of $1500 each based on job performance. My pay was based on my production of 300 lines per hour at an average of 8.33 cents per line, averaging out to 40 hours per week. I was ranked #1 out of over 13,000 employees in a national company. Starting the first of the year my company restructured and cut pay, accounts, bonuses, and phone/DSL reimbursement which is required to do the job. At the time I was told some of this was only temporary, to last three to six months, which would have been fine. However, a month ago I was informed that the changes were permanent.

I ordered my car based on well over a year's steady pay and consistent work flow and before my company restructured and pulled this on us. This is why I am taking a second job and will be working 80 hours per week. This will give me more money than I will require to cover all my monthly expenses, so I will be able to pay ahead and pay down/off my bills so I will not have to work so many hours.

I did go to school for one year since it was financially impossible to do more than that. Family didn't have enough money to help me with it, had too much for me to qualify for much in the way of scholarships or grants. I also had no one who could cosign a loan for me so I was only able to get up to a certain amount of money. Had funding not been an issue I would be in medical school at this time working towards becoming a surgeon, since I had been accepted to several universities. Unfortunately, plans do not always work out. I have every intention of going back to school at some point in the future to pursue something medical-related, potentially nursing.

What would you suggest I do as a "real" job that would allow me to make my previous $25 an hour, particularly since the majority of people I know that do hold college degrees do not make this income in their professions?

I don't see anything wrong with hard work or working long hours if someone wants to do it and is driven to do so. I happen to really like my profession. It is in a medical-related field, which is where I wanted to be all along. I don't know what makes you presume I have no real job or education and am essentially a loser or what equates you to be a person qualified to pass judgment on me or my choices, especially given the fact that I am motivated and dedicated to improving my situation and you haven't the slightest idea what kind of person I am.

I doubt you would be taking this attitude if I said I was working 80 hours per week to pay the rent, feed my family, et cetera. Then again, it seems to be me in general you have a problem with.

Well, I'm starting to see why people like Bunny. That was a very measured and mature response.

Actually, I have a problem with people who are full of $hit. Let me begin:

First of all, I have gone to college, and graduated, and so I have some idea of how things work. This is how they DON"T work: go to school for a year, and then get accepted into medical school. This is how things DO work: you go to school for 4 years at an accredited university. You take the MCAT, and IF you do well enough, you apply to and are accepted to med school.

Come on guys, don't you hate people that make lies about getting in to colleges or some bullcrap just to place themselves higher than they really are?

Saying that medical transcription is in a "medical-related" field is quite a stretch. Let's be honest with ourselves and call it what it is - data entry - you can type 200 wpm. Should we start calling you Dr. now? (Just like the janitor at the hospital is in a medical-related field...)

I'm qualified to pass judgement on you, because I'm better than you. There, I came out and said it. And after thinking about it, you're right - it is you in general I have a problem with.

I didn't say I was "accepted" into medical school. I said I was accepted into several universities where I would have been studying premed and, in fact, was awarded a partial academic scholarship at Northwestern but I couldn't afford to pay the rest of the bill. It was just financially impossible for me go through four years of school and anything beyond that. I did one year of school for my job, which actually gives me approximately 1-1/2 years worth of college credits. If I count the college classes I took in high school I have two years worth of college credits at this time.

Bunnygirl your car will look like mine. except for the spoiler. And don't worried about what other people said. The effort you put to obtain what you want as no price. Keep on rolling.

Thanks!!! I was raised that hard work and dedication was a virtue and that nothing in life is just handed to you. In order to get something you have to go out and work hard for it, which in turn teaches you greater respect for whatever it was you were trying to obtain. Probably the most valuable lesson I was taught in life thus far and for which I am very grateful.

Anybody can say "Im better than you" over the internet.

but comments like this wont help anything, xyzzy.

She can work/live whatever the way she wants. working for 40,80, even 160 hours a week has nothing to do with you.

plus if shes really making 25 even 20 or 15, thats already better than ALOT of "4 yrs college student" like you. I've seen alot of those 4 years of hard working student working as a Bank Teller, some even end up selling Big Macs.

So, keep your comments to yourself.

I concede - you all have made me realize the mental blunders I have made. I will go ahead and kiss her *** like everyone else here.... Whatever, f**kers.

I don't know BunnyGirl personally, but I'm sick of her starting a thread every other week giving us the "much needed" update to her personal life, and the status of her vehicle. 600+ posts and she doesn't even own the car yet! That's a little extreme.

The greatest part, I love seeing every schmuck on here jump to her rescue and defend her. Just keep it up - I need something entertaining to read.

Congrats on the car. Hmm if we look back at previous posts I remember mentioned an April 1st kinda deadline for the 06 and thats when you got all hot and bothered about your car being on the production lot or something like that

Oh well looks like it'll be here soon. I too except to buy my Gt within the next 2-3 weeks so we'll both have our cars at the same time. I'm getting an 05 though.

Amen to that! I too used to get bugged earlier by bunnygirl's multiple posts on trivial things on multiple threads, but then I learnt that she works from home and probably has this site open all the time.

I guess some ppl. also need a million posts next to thier name to feel important on a forum. I don't let it get to me anymore. If she's got the time and inclination to post here all day I dont see why it should bother anyone. You can just as well choose to ignore her posts.

Enjoy your RX-8 and stick to more "informative" threads here.

Just my 2 cents.

I'm glad it's finally almost mine!!! MNAO kept telling me late January, early February. Well, it got built the first week of February, so they must have kept misunderstanding the difference between building and delivering.

Must be someone else with the kid, although I mentioned in the lounge the explaination for my huge medical bills as having a baby early who then died about an hour later.

What color are you looking to get???

I'm sorry to hear that. Some "personal" info for all here. My mom had 4 misscarraiges before she had me!

Mine was about four years ago. They tend to run in families. My mom had one between her first and second kid. I'm the third and last, only girl. Mine was the result of an accident though (fell, very long story).

Your car is going to be nice!!! I like the red car a lot but I can't see myself owning a red car. I've always wanted a blue car. When I was two I told my dad I "needed" a blue Ferrari because my brother had a Matchbox car that was one and I liked it. I wish the blue one could have two tone blue/black leather. I love the red/black leather combo.

I hope you find the car you want with the features you want. May be difficult at this time if you are looking for an 05. Good luck!!!!!

Cool!!! Better get on it before you lose it!!!

I found an 05 in August that had everything in it I am getting on my 06. I thought about it for two days before I decided I wanted to buy it (saw it when my mom was getting an oil change). I called the dealership about it and I missed out. During those two days I was thinking they already sold it. I asked about special ordering an 06 then and they said they couldn't start placing orders until October when Mazda gave them the information. I started trying to set up my order in mid October but Mazda hadn't given them the information yet. They said they would call when they got it. At the end of November they contacted me and said they were prealotted two and they could change the specs to match mine, so that's what I did. I've been going crazy waiting ever since!!!!

For my part, I would just like to keep the record straight:

I don't know BunnyGirl, even on the forum. I don't especially read her posts or threads, and even in this thread I've mostly just skimmed her prodigious output. I'm sure she's a nice person, but I don't particularly care about her. To be perfectly honest, I suspect that if I paid more attention to her, I'd probably agree with your overall assessment of her posts.

So this has nothing to do with me defending her in any way. I simply charge you with being a total ***.
