the bumper cover looks repairable from the pics you posted. it would need repainted as i assume the paint is cracked.. maybe an oem front air dam would do the trick in replacing the broken one painted along with the bumper? also there is some undercovers in the for sale section i believe.

Nope, they stuck with the collision because the tire tread wasn't airborne the whole time which is a crock of crap. They are paying like $700 of the like $1300 of damage, i'm hoping the guy i'm going to can fix it right, but cheaper considering I know him. The car is going to get dropped off sunday to get fixed. I figured i'd get it fixed at the same time I go for surgery. Cause I won't need the car anyway.

Makes me love my insurance company more. Same deal, Tire tread kicked up by car in front of me, airborned, similar (though a bit more extensive) damage. And guess what, also in New Jersey.

Mine is covering it under comprehensive with no questions asked. $1,657 estimate at the moment. In the shop for repair at the moment, hoping they don't find additional damage that will extend it farther

Nice. And here I was worried that I wouldn't get covered because the retainging nuts holding my bumper on are wearing out. I think an SUV hit me at under 5mph in the parking lot when nobody was watching... The jackhole probably thought that nobody will notice the pinky sized gaps below the headlights. Looks like the majority of insurance companies want up front cash on top of what they collect on a freaking already expensive car to cover.

At least now I know that I will be screwed out of my claim and may have to file for the collison; since it didn't involve me driving the car, near the car, and obviously the driver was negligent for not trying to swerve away from the SUV while not being in the actual car.

I need a truth tazer. Actually no, I need a common sense tazer.

If your car was parked and it was a hit and run, I beleive that its considered under comprehensive? much like vandelism. But from what I've been told by my insurance agent, because the company ISNT paying more than $1000 they cannot raise my insurance but they can always put the car into a new bracket which might affect it. I think that falls under some NJ law.
