My car developed an airbag light last year. I discovered it was a frayed wire going to the seat track position sensor. I soldered the wire back together, insulated it with shrink-tubing, and wrapped it in electrical tape.

It appears the problem has returned. I'm assuming with the cold weather and the cheap vinyl insulation that my solder joint has cracked or I wore through the insulation again. There wasn't a whole lot left to solder to, and the wiring is molded into the sensor casing.

Is there anywhere I can purchase this sensor?

 

i fixed mine the same way, and its been ok. since every seat has the sensor, maybe a used seat/seat track would work?
