Anyone ever taken apart the stock shift ****?

Hello all. I am about to get a different stock shifter, leaving me with 2. I want to open my old one up and put an rx8 logo in place of the H pattern of the gears, and have it illuminated.

So basically make an illuminated shift **** with an rx8 logo there.

Anyone familiar with doing anything like this?

Some vendor sells illuminated *****, not sure you'd be able to make one out of a stock ****. Here's a thread I started when mine was acting up:

I was able to get the silver piece out, tightened the screw and put the plastic circle back in. As I said, I doubt you'd be able to run any wiring in there without some serious modifications...
