Air Pump on RENESIS?
I saw the renesis on display at the detroit show. I was wondering if the new renesis requires the air pump to pass emmissions. I hope not.

I heard that because of the way that the engine works and the high compression ratio causes for very low emmissions with out an air pump. Thats what mazda is sayin at least

Also probably depends on how stringent the emmissions rules are. For California, I expect that there may be some stuff done to make it breath cleaner like an air pump. Who knows.
Anyone know if they're considering the precat on the Renesis engine? That's always been a PITA because most FD owners simply replace it. It'd be nice if they just left it out

Ah, so the rotary can yet-again be air pump free! In the early 80's, Honda and Mazda were the only imports without air pumps. Honda's CVCC and Mazda's, zoom zoom :D
