Advice on RX-8 Purchase
Hey guys,
I've been looking into purchasing a RX8 for my brother and have found one that I like. It is a 2005 White with 18k miles. It is the Sport model with the performance package, so it has xenon, DSC, and fogs. It also has a rear spoiler. 6 speed of course!
It is also "Mazda Certified," so it carries the extra warranty.
The dealer is asking 18,995. What is a fair price for it? It seems reasonable enough already, but there is always room for negotiation. I checked KBB but it seems seriously inflated.
Btw, I have a s2000 and what drew me to the RX8 is that it is very similar to s2000 (handles well, high redline, slick gearbox, rwd, light). My brother can't wait!
I have already read the FAQs and so far this site seems pretty good.
Edit: I'm sorry if I put this in the wrong forum; looks like it might belong in the purchasing forum.. moderator, can you move it??

When I bought my 05 in March 06 there were 04 GT models ~11k on the odo listed at 19,995.
So an 05 Sport in November 07 for 18,995 doesn't seem like a very good deal.
But it's all relative to location. Either way - never pay the list price. The guy that buys at list price is a dealer's dream.

Yes , if you like it .I would pay top dollar for a extremely nice well kept car. On the other hand, if the car has a few scratches or door dings , worn tires, less than perfect interior or otherwise looks road worn .... No.... NADA or Kelly BB are not the end all for pricing of cars. Just a guide line. And sometimes you get what you pay for
