Is an RX8 for me?
Hey all. I'll be buying a new car here in about four months. I've been planning on getting an 02 Mustang GT, but I've been looking more and more at getting an 04 six-speed RX8(235 hp???). I was wondering how well they take mods?(I'm aiming for around 300RWHP) How do you guys think the RX8 compars with the Mustang GT?
Thanks for the help, everyone.

lol, I love how other people don't like mustangs, cuz I think they are over rated too. I just personally like them. . . How much would it cost to get to 300rwhp? what mods?

No soup, one year. For not searching or browsing.
If your thing is working on the engine to get more power, you're better off with the Mustang. There's not much to work on with the rotary. You can change intake (really just the air filter and ducts) and exhaust (muffler system) for small gains, but it's not like a conventional engine where you can swap the manifold or header, or even mess with the internal parts. You need to put a turbocharger on for a big gain. Browse the major power gain forum to get a feel on how that goes.

the rx8 isnt for you, with 1000 bucks you can only get bolt ons and even then it will only yield you 5 horsepower. Go with the stang, you'll be happier with it if thats all that matters to you

Test drive them, research them. Figure out which one you'd prefer rather then asking people their opinion (As they all chose the rx8 obviously)
super charger or turbo is the only mod an rx8 can really take due to no internal parts to change. it'll cost 4-6k and you'll be making 300hp at the wheels.
put the same mod on a mustang and you'll probably make more power, but you can also go the N/A route with the mustang and have a more muscle car sound.
so that aside, do you rather the looks of the rx8 or the mustang? do you rather drive fast in a 1/4 mile or fast around the track?
Considering the mustang is used as a rental car, you can get cheap replacement parts.

There may be a couple of people messing with him - in both directions - but most of us are playing it straignt. RX-8 is not for everyone. Mustang is not for everyone. For someone interested in hopping up an engine, a Mustang makes a lot more sense.
