My 8 needs a new face...among other things
So I'm peeved at the moment. On my way home to RI from MD, and NJ turnpike, ~6ft long full width tire tread gets kicked up by the car in front of me (a modded VW Bug...humorously enough, I have pics of it).
Pics will go up when I get home, but front lip nearly ripped off (only 2 attachment points not broken clean through), lower bumper edge shattered, splash pan shattered, fog light ripped off it's mount (hanging from it's wires), bumper mounts along the front and right front bent/broken, front grill cracked and mounts broken (wobbles if you touch it), Right front wheel-well guard mounting pins missing, and right front oil cooler vanes smashed. (No fluid leak fortunately, figure the fog light was pounded back into it)
Good news:
$0 deductible on comprehensive , so it won't cost me anything but time.
What. The. Hell.

Damn, I had sort-of the same thing happen to me a couple of days ago, except it was a piece of a truck that flew off and hit the front bumper and scratched it to high hell and messed up the paint. Among other things.

Ugh. I'm really sorry to hear that man... that's freaking terrible. I just got your messages a while ago (I had left my phone in the car). Let me know if Mazda gives you a Mazdaspeed bumper for free... that would be well worth the hassle!

Thus the reason why I keep a safe following distance Gives me time to manuver out of the way of flying objects.

No MS bumper
The adjuster wasn't receptive to alternates from stock. Kept stressing 'exactly the way it was'. (Tasca Collision Center, Cranston RI, attached to Tasca Mazda dealer)
Ah well, I'll get it another day.
At least he recognized the tri-stage paint, and I am confident he will match it. Should be going into the shop this Thursday, but not confirmed until later today when he knows when he will have the parts in.

Can't be worse than my wait man... I just found out today that my car probably won't be ready this weekend (week 3 now) and might not even be ready by the following week depending on brake damage.
Another way to approach it, is check with the recommended shops through your insurance company.. I found that they both listed several similar shops.
Maybe you can work a new bumper into this. I'm glad you nor anyone else was hurt from that debris.

I've had to have my Copper Red painted twice, because of two separate incidents, and it is also a tri stage paint. The dealer recommended shop matched it perfectly.

It seems rare that someone on here posts a fast turn-around time on repair work.

So they did find more damage. The bumper filler and grill(which I pointed out to them) need to be replaced as well. Fortunately they have those parts in stock, but it pushed the ready day from tonight to Monday.
Well, it could be a lot worse man... I'm going to update my own thread about my car, but lets just say your car will probably be done before mine and I haven't had mine for 3 weeks. Take some pictures when your car is finished so we can see her in good repair.
