It seems like the dealers around here ordered significantly fewer 2006 8s than for 2005. Maybe there won't be as many good deals this year?

He quoted the 06 price and mentioned that there wouldn't be more than a $200 difference if any. He expected them to be the same though. There was a $250 increase from 05 to 06. So based on that he reckons the same since there aren't any major changes to the 07 models.

I was hoping Mazda would tweak the engine/exhaust and get more hps out of the car after 3 years.

I will sell mine next year and while I really liked the RX-8, I am dissapoited in the performance as it the slowest car I have owned in the last 10 years.

I am leaning towards the G-35 myself at this point but I am waiting to see what else comes out in 07.

Dude, I just traded in my 2005 G35 Coupe 6MT for the RX8 just 2 days ago. Lemme tell you, the interior of the G35 is very cheaply made. The fake aluminum center console and door handles scratches VERY easily, the 6 disc changer (base equipment) malfunctions all the time. There is alot of road noise and tire feathering that's not been corrected in the 06's yet. The chasis of the G35 tends to pop at high cornering speeds and the car is HEAVY AS HELL! I actually recommend you waiting for the new Generation of G35's to come out in 2008. Too bad they won't be using the SKYLINE 350GT versions for the new G35's anymore.... Go to the TS forum on G35Driver.com, look for Dark Genesis, that's me.

Larger brakes on 2007???

Any comments on the new, larger brakes (12.7") that will be standard on the '07 MT? Is this in response to performance issues, or just to keep up with the aftermarket "big brake" kits?

I know that Wikipedia isn't always the most reliable, but it says that in 2010, Mazda will lauch a redesigned RX-8. I was just wondering if anyone had any information confirming or disproving that. Whoever wrote the passage about the redesign didn't cite their sources, so I was wondering if anyone else had heard that.

Autoweek posted that it would come out as MY2010 (so, 2009 in reality). I'm too lazy to find it. But in the same article is said the Evo is coming out in 2009MY which is from all reports completely wrong so take the article for what it's worth.

Thanks for point that out, didn't even notice,

I wondering about whether 17" will fit any more for people who sometimes change or will change to 17" Rim for winter/track/or whatever other reason

Stormy Blue Mica

RX8Club Noob here. I'm looking at getting a 2007 next year. For anyone else interested in the new Stormy Blue Mica color, here's some pictures of the new MX5 Roadster Coupe in the same color. Looks pretty sharp, I think.

From autoblog.com:

Plus there are two wallpapers at desktopmachine.com.

Hopefully pics of a Stormy Blue Mica RX8 will surface soon, preferably something for the "Girls and 8's" thread.

^ Ugh, another step towards monotony for the RX-8. I don't mind if they add this color, but why did they have to take away Winning Blue?

I think Subaru has monopolized metallic blue with the WRX. It's sad, but true. I've always liked electric blue, but whenever I see a new car in that color I automatically think WRX. I agree with you, though, the Winning Blue RX8 looks awesome.

I give props to Mazda for bringing out colors like Phatom Blue and Black Cherry at least they give some options other than black, white, blue, and 5 shades of gray.

I like the new Stormy Blue Mica color, but don't want to see the Winning Blue go.
Is Mazda planning to have another special Shinka color even though the Shinka package will be offered as a package above Grand Touring.
I just glad to have gotten my Copper Red seeing how that was a limited color.

Taking away Winning Blue? The best color Mazda ever made? I guess that's okay, it will help the resale value of my car

Actually, Laser Blue is the best color Mazda ever made, but unfortunately not available on the 8. Winning Blue is a close 2nd

Laser Blue Mica was freaking hot. My MSP was LBM and I got alot of compliments on the color. Winning Blue is just too girlish/light of a blue for this car. Any darker blue is much better than Winning Blue, IMO. Though, that doesn't mean I won't like it with the right body-kit.

IMO the two colors aren't that different. Winning blue is a tad lighter but not that different. Perhaps a tad more flake (that, or I wax it more often than my last laser blue). Here's one comparison photo, when I bought my car.

I saw the Galactic Blue in person during Zoom-Zoom Live and it was good, but it wasn't exciting.

Yeah the winning is just a bit too light for me. The Galactic is ok. Im more down with the Strato Blue or BMW's Carbon Fiber Metallic Black (actually blue)
