Rx8 REW

I want to swap a 13b few into my rx8 i can get the motor and transmission of course. I still have my renesis motor running perfectly i just want more power, so i understand i can use my rx8 ecu, and i searched for motor mounts and i found the one below. if i wanted to use the stock twin turbos what else would i need to get for the swap? and how much would it cost me? the turbos come with the 13b rew i don't mind swapping them later. Some people are saying all you need is the mount if you already have the renesis motor because you can use most parts off of it. is that true?
pls don't tell me to search i can't find the answer I'm looking for.

The REW doesn't fit with the stock turbos. You can't use the RX8 ecu and expect it to work.
It isn't an easy swap..... you need to do s lot more homework and then maybe you will get better questions and answers

The twins fitting issue I think can be overcome by modifying engine bay a little and removing the sequentiality (the proper way).
But why can't you use stock ECU if you replace the LIM with Xcessive 4 injector one and use Mazdaedit or AccesPort to tune it?

Im going to just go out on a limb here and probably say its because the 13b rew and 13bmsp are completely different. Different compression, different redline. More side ports in the msp, ect. You can use the stock ecu to run all your dash and accessories but a cobb or mazdaedit is lacking the ability to run the engine. And the only one I've ever come across with the twins looked like jethro did it back in the hills of west virginia with duct tape and a few wood screws.

The stock ECU has issues with a low power turbo kit on the Renesis.....if you think that you want to try and use it on a REW built have at it....but don't expect any sympathy when you blow it up. Im trying to be diplomatic here....but you are doomed to fail if you try and cheap out.

I am not asking you to search, I am telling you. If you searched and read any of the REW swap threads on this site (including this one), you would know the answers to your questions.

Dude. Loved this. Gonna do the same swap into my phantom blue pretty soon. Renesis is a pos. After driving a buddies 411 whp fd with 22 mpg, i vowed to do this. I wish you were in cali. We have a rotary meet that i host down here called braplife. We have a few 20b fds and fcs that come out. No rew 8s yet though. Gonna be the first to daily mine lmao. Thanks for this model of how to get things properly done. Follow our page please and instagram if you have one!
Thanks dude.

did you have any issues at all with the Microtech during tuning? i'd really like to know, thinking about doing a project like this but weighing it against turbocharging the stock 8 motor

maybe i glossed over the post, but I noticed that you first had milled bits out of the UIM, and have the 8's drive by wire throttle body mounted to the UIM. Did you just machine a plate to mount up to the UIM? Curious how you planned that

I just paid my rew block yesterday, have a lot to do. Trying to read up and see how others handled odds and ends. Awesome build.

You can make a mounting plate for the RX-8 throttle easily ...and weld it to a Greddy Elbow or something like that...or you can use the stock RX-7 throttle body and make a cable actuated pedal.....that's what I would do if I was you

Dannobre why would you recommend the stock RX-7 throttle body and cable actuated pedal? Just wondering what is the advantage?

If you're waiting awhile to do mods, wait for the new ID injectors to come out.

They're designed by ID in conjunction with Bosch with a focus on being compatible with alternative fuels. For example one of the unique things about the ID1300 is that it has 100% stainless steel internals. The new size coming out is the ID1700 from what I've heard.

I'm local to ID and I've seen the insane amount of research and development and testing that goes into the ID injectors, hence the higher cost, but it's worth it IMO. It's a lot cheaper for injector companies to get off the shelf Bosch injectors and relabel them, then do some crude tests to make sure they're working then box them up and kick them out the door. The biggest thing is that the ID injectors are matched sets. They go through huge batches of injectors to pick out sets that flow nearly identical across the entire operating range so that you know for sure that every port (or cylinder depending on motor) is receiving the same amount of fuel no matter what percent duty cycle you are at.

Those are the reasons I have six ID1300's for my setup which is overkill for me. It's enough to theoretically support 885WHP on E85 in a rotary application at 85% duty cycle with only 3bar fuel pressure if I did the math right.
