need your help on a 04 Rx8 purchase

Hi guys.. this is my first post ever on Rx8club.com... I love this place..

I am seriously considering purchase a 04 AT Rx8 non-touring RX8 clean title wit/ good carfax.. but it does have 60,000 miles on it.. the car will come at price of $13000.. it's my first time buying from a dealership.. and the salesman has insisted there will be taxes and fees.. that's rougly 11% of the cost.. in my case.. $1500.. so i can get this car out of the lot for $14500 and it also has Mazda Limited Slip Differential ($1,800 Option) which the ad claimed.. 60,000 miles are quite high (abused??) I have a 89 rX7 GTU.. i just love the handling.. the price is hard to resist.. i work part-time and school part-time by the way.. i called a local RX8 dealership(san diego) about purchasing a warranty.. the guy whole-heartedly warned me not to buy this car(due to mileage). and there's no way he would let me purchase a warranty through them..

Should I do it?? Anybody?? HELP!! THANK YOU!

-Paul

Never knew there was a Mazda Limited Slip Differential option. Sounds like dealer BS to me and I would run. For not much more money you can get one with some warranty left. I would pass on this. But as for the miles mine has 84,200 and runs fine. 60,000 on an 04 is not out of line.

Also since you have a background on rotaries your aware of the "uniquieness" of them.
I was under the impression that that all '04 MT that has the sport pkg on up came with the LSD.
The '04 base AT didn't come with squat and 16" rims.

60 k miles isn't a real issue with a rotary but not knowing how it was driven (granny or like it was stolen) I would pass. Unless you have a friend that rebuild 13b's.
