28.3k for '04 6sp GT+nav?

Hey, I'm finally shopping to get my car. I was quoted $28,300 for an '04 6 speed GT with nav. Sound good or hold out for more?

I was hoping to get black w/ black/red leather but they just don't seem to exist in north jersey anymore so I'm settling for a Red w/ black leather. If anyone knows of an '04 6sp that has the red/black leather in any ext. color in NJ or int he Phili area, please, PM me!

Ask the dealer to search all the dealers in the area, they can usually do it via computer and do the deal with you via trade with the other dealer. That is the only way I was able to get black/red leather, no one in my area had it either.

Dealers claim that method is not very reliable due to lag in updating -- what they told me anyway. I found several cars that were listed on there that I was interested in but those cars did not exist on the lot.

I paid 26.9K for a used GT without Nav. With a small trade and ~1000 cash down, I was told by both the dealer and my insurance company that I was starting my loan without being upside down. I could probably have negotiated for less, but they were pretty sticky on the price. I have also seen a couple of others like mine on used lots for 31K so I would say you are getting a fairly reasonable price.

Call Mazda, they have the most accurate inventory of what cars are where... including cars that are still 'on the boat'

That's very good, about $2,000 below invoice. I'd take it. But another person here just claimed $4K+ below invoice, which is pretty unbelievable but great if true.

Does it have 6 changer or MP3? appearance pack? 04's are basically one year old now, I think you might be able to get them to come down a bit more...jmho...and I am not in NJ so locality can be a factor.

Just the GT + Nav. I'm going to try to get it under 28k, perhaps 27,5.

Got mine in Texas. And yes, it was about $4000 below invoice. I just batted my beautiful brown eyes at them, told them I could not afford what they were asking, but I was totally in love with the car. Pow - like magic, the cost was lowered. Makes me feel good to know that I was right about how far I was under invoice...thanks. I checked the used price on Kelley Blue Book (NADA does not have used values yet online) and got a little over 31K for what I ended up with. Gig those aggies, couldn't have gotten a better deal anywhere but College Station, Texas!!!

BTW - mine was used...15K miles, but no scratches, dings, etc. I think you are getting an awesome price on a new one.

Well, that's not comparing apples to apples. I got a sweet deal for you on a '94 Civic -- $10,000 below invoice! You interested? :p

Archangel claims $24,000 for a Touring with appearance and accents (13 miles on it). I find it hard to believe, but I guess he'll speak up if he sees this.

Thumbs up

I picked up my 2004 6-speed RX-8 on Saturday. It had 7,500 miles on it. It is Winning Blue & has the Grand Touring package, Appearance package, & navigation. I paid 25,250 for it, $200 of which was for window etching, & $150 for the dealer administrative fee. They were asking $300 for the admin fee, but I complained so they cut that in half. I wasn't even aware of the window etching charge until the finance agent presented me with the final contract. By that time, I was too tired to complain about that charge & was anxious to leave with my new(used) RX-8.

I had originally intended to purchase, or possibly lease, a brand new black, 6-speed RX-8 with the Sport package. I felt that the deal for the used RX-8, with all of the "bells & whistles" was too good to pass up, even though the Winning Blue was not my color preference. There are a couple of small minor scratches on it. Not bad at all though.

I know the Toyota/Chevorlet dealer, that I purchased the car from, had the car on the lot for at least a month (I drove by it frequently). I was a little apprehensive about that. I feared there might be something horribly wrong with it. The Carfax checked out (not always 100% reliable I know) and I could find not any tell tale signs of body work. It looks perfect, except for the previously mentioned minor scratches.

I think I got a pretty good deal, and the Winning Blue is really starting to win me over. :D

94Medition... Tyler, Texas, Mike Pile Mazda-BMW. They have 3 more cars left at $3500 off of MSRP. Red GT w/Nav, a Silver GT loaded (list $35204) and I don't remember the last one. The Red GT was 33,200-3500=29700. Invoice on this car is 30,341 so that is only 641 below invoice on that particular model. I guess they had more markup in the base model. I've read good deals going on at Freeman in Dallas and they are a bigger dealer with better holdbacks probably
