RX-8 6SP with Touring Package

Hello All,
I am in the market again for cars after my RX-8 was involved in an accident and it was considered totalled. I am currently undecided on several cars including a RX-8 again, Acura TSX or Mini Cooper S. The deal I my RX8 from provided me with the following qoute :

2004 6SP Touring Package with 6 year 75000 Mile warranty for 28,100.

Does that seem high as well to others? For my 04 6SP Sport Package I ended up paying 26200 minus the 500 college rebate? I looked up the price on several sites such as edmunds and the invoice price was 27588. My question is, does this price seem right, I thought it was too high and also how much are these aftermarket warranties?

Thanks in advance for your thoughts.
Regards,
Stephan

So it's basically 500 over invoice for another 2 years extended on the warranty. I don't know, that seems a bit high to me, I'd shoot for closer to invoice.

Shop at more than one dealer. If you are patient you can find a good deal below invoice.

My dad had the cooper S. It was nice at first but it is kind of slow, and very impractical. Fun little car though.

And the TSX is basically an accord with the weak 4 cyl engine. Might as well get a loaded v6 accord.

My '04 6MT/6CD/Touring/Appearance/Deflector was $1000 under invoice a week ago. The "bumper to bumper" policy to 7 years (so 3 extra) was offered at $1034 or $1054 or something like that. Are you keeping the car 6 years? I kept my last car 13 years, but I think that's an anomaly in this crowd. If you're moving on in 4 years, the policy is worthless.

Thanks everyone, my thoughts were confirmed.. It did seem high especially with these cars selling so close or below invoice.. I would like to keep this car a little longer (I kept my last car before the RX8 for 5 years 100,000 miles...).. I will get some additional qoutes from other dealers, I just assumed (wrongly, I may add) that the dealer who gave me a good deal last time would do the same...The real dellema is what type of car, I have already checked with my insurance company and in terms of rates, it didn't seem to matter that much as to whether I drove a Honda Civic (low end of the insurance rates) to the TSX (high end of insurance rates). Practicallity doesn't really matter because it is just my girlfriend and I, and several family members have SUV's incase I need to haul big items. All in all I don't drive very much anymore, I live close to work so it comes down to price and fun factor. I'm planning to go test drive TSX tonight and the mini on the weekend... So we will see... Thanks for the replies everyone.
