Well, Cam is so dang busy it is hard to pin him down. I certainly understand that. None the less the 2nd week of Janurary I am driving down---I told Ilene (i hope that is correct) that if I had too I would pull up front, take the pcm out myself, buy him lunch and tell him to flash the damn thing while he is eating. I was joking around of course , but ilene said Cam would probably enjoy that --so I may just do it
i already have I asume the correct maf tube on and the vacuum lines routed the different way. Did yall know the Revi maf pipe works out well for this build also?

You shouldn't have the correct maf tube yet, or need the Revi. Last I checked Pettit is going to give us a new MAF tube that's the same diameter as OEM.

i did the same thing with my car when moon came up (we cut off the maf housing from the factory box)
found a coupler at home depot of all places and it works great...i will take some pics and post later today...

PS...the new MAFs arent ready yet...as the manufacturer that cam sent them out to for mass production made a boo boo...im told they were made backasswards..

Well, yeah. So does the K&N and any of the other tubes that are sold as performance intakes for the RX-8. That is why I've been accumulating used intakes from forum members - so I can address this issue.

Its just a tube with a MAF flange on it. The inlet and outlet need to be the same size, so there is no way to make it "backwards". You just flip it around.

We had that info in your thread (that our friend crapped/got deleted). I think what you need is here:

The one that came with the kit fit the factory MAF housing.

Why? They are running vacuum through it at the moment.

well I know on my NA even though I cut off the (hot) water circulation the throttle body sill gets quite hot over time . If you circulate cool water through it may just take a bit of heat out of the inlet air - maybe ....

The water coming through the intercooler isn't exactly "cool", especially after you start making boost a few times in a drive cycle.
At best, its ambient temperature, which is what the air temp going into the TB would be, anyway.

true - but the throttle body heats up to close to the same temp as the block over time . Does on my N/A anyway .
It's just a thought - would be easy to do and if the throttle body is getting hot over time it just may help a little .

True, but the new Pettit Racing intake tube incorporates an additional feature that I’m not in liberty to discuss. Therefore, the intake sent back for Cam’s approval from the manufacturer was done incorrectly/backwards.

MM thanks for the info---the RB pipe just looks good to me--i took the color off it and now she is buffed out.
The tune on this reflash is mated with the pipe of course(went back to that thread--thanks again)--but it has been shown that our maf is very sensitive to the airflow. vacuum lines placed in the wrong position can have an affect and heck on oem ,some cars had to have the screens--some did not.
i will have to measure out the RB pipe and see--i already have the same filter as shown.
Juan thanks for the pics man--i am having a little trouble getting Cam to give me an appointment date so i am just going to park at his place, take the pcm out and take it inside and ask him to flash it! I will give ya a call. 2nd week in Jan.
