Just pull the pads out and apply anti-squeal compound liberally to both sides of the backing plate (not the friction surface, obviously). Most of the squealing is actually the pad and backing plate rubbing back and forth and very high frequency. Unfortunately, you wont get rid of all of it, no matter what you do. Since they're not allowed to use asbestos in brake pads any more, the new compounds and composites they're dreaming up aren't quite as smooth. One of the unique properties of asbestos, and the reason it was used so heavily in brake pads, is that it's sliding friction increases very progressively. Most modern composites either have lots of friction, or they don't, so your pad grabs and releases at VERY high frequencies, causing it to slide against the backing plate and caliper, creating the squealing. The 8 is simply worse about it because our brakes provide TREMENDOUS stopping power.
