When you change it check to see what it looks like...the dipstick will always have crap on it around here in the winter...unless you have been driving it hard for an hour or more to heat it up good

Unless it smells like coolant you are good

Take the car out and get it good and hot before you change the oil

Has your car been in for the recall concerning this problem? When I got my car I had the same problem, but it's a known problem and can be fixed (if it's the recall problem, if not you may be in trouble )

This is a common concern in the winter time and there are many threads on this same topic. Your car is fine. The only problem is it is hard to read the oil level on your dipstick.

His is an 2004, out of warranty = NO TSB.

This issue isn't worth spending $$, just try to read the dipstick in as much light as possible. I drilled small holes in my dipstick at the full / low lines to aid in reading it.

Dude, there have literally been 3 new threads made about this in the last 24 hours. I am about to link you to one from yesterday. Don't just read the info about the stuff on the dip stick, also read the info about the best way to search the forum. And I'm not saying that to be an ******* or anything, seriously. I'm just trying to help you figure out what the best way to find info on the forum is.... https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-tech-garage-22/gooey-brown-bubbly-oil-209556/
